Looks like Aerosmith is going on a 'farewell' tour

I said farewell in 1977 after they bailed on the World Series of Rock after agreeing to perform. They did play in Cincy later that year and sucked. It cost less than $10 thankfully.

My brother had a ticket to see them in Rupp in I think 2003. It was cancelled day of because Steven Tyler lost his voice. The next day we were watching tv and he showed up on TRL singing. I thought my brother was gonna break something he was so mad. Then a few years later they cancelled another show at Rupp. This time the doors had opened and Cheap Trick was waiting for their cue to go on stage. The head of Rupp pretty much said they were banned after that.

Not seen them. Don't like most of their songs, where they simply repeat the same line over and over and over and over (often 12-15 times). But...I do bet they give a pretty good performance/show, which is a big selling point to see a band live. So I would go, but only if tickets were reasonably priced (not likely).

They bid farewell to making decent music in 1993. They bid farewell to writing their own songs without the help of a writing team in 1987.

Lyrically, their music is trash but without "Sweet Emotion", we wouldn't have the intro to Dazed and Confused.

Are any of these old bands actually "playing" anymore? Apparently Motley Crue and KISS are using backing tracks because they can't do what they once could but they still wanna do all these tours for hundreds of dollars a ticket.

I saw Guns N’ Roses in 2017 and they were playing live. Band sounded tight. Axl sounded like Mickey Mouse when he tried to hit his high notes.

I wish I was older just because of all the great shows I missed due to not being alive yet :(
I saw the stones in dayton ohio in 1965 at hare arena. they couldn’t even get the place a third full. just before the opening band started they announced that everyone could move up closer. i was about nine rows back with a $6( cheapest seat)** ticket. i still have the ticket stub.

**wrong, it was $3

If someone finds a way to make me travel back in time to see Led Zeppelin in their prime I’d sell a kidney
Yep. I wish I could have seen then in their prime on the Houses of the Holy tour or some such. Also wish I could have seen the Doors, Allman Bros with Duane, and Pink Floyd on the Animals tour.

Saw Journey last June, a new lead singer, but they were great!

Aerosmith was great in Vegas a couple of years back when Tyler was healthy and sober. If he has cleaned himself up (again) for their next jaunt, it will be a great show.

I saw Aerosmith in Rupp in 1993 or 1994. It was a pretty good show, but they weren't very interactive with the fans. Van Hagar on the other hand, right around the same time, put on a great show and was very interactive.
