He took an "unofficial" visit there this weekend and word's leaked he plans to flip. Seems huge NIL $$$$$ involved. Saban came to visit his early last week.

Iowa doesn't swim in the 5* waters often and proves it isn't safe to do so when you're dealing with an in-state kid.

Frankly, I enjoyed immediate eligibility upon transfer and NIL when it brought in Wan Dale Robinson, Levis, Dare Rosenthal and others in 2021.

Hello, they added an early signing period because every non superpower was sick of having a 4 star or really good 3 star committed for 8 months........and then BAM 2 days until February national signing day, the kid get offered by Bama, Ohio, Texas, USC, Michigan, Fl State.

The changes in CFB are drastic, definitely, NIL, portal, more realignment, bigger playoffs. No doubt some fans are gonna get turned off & tune out. The braintrust, the powers that be are betting they will be replaced by more, by younger fans. We will see how it ends up.

I'm going to be straight coming from a Ky fan...and I think UK is currently on a similar landscape as Iowa football has been on for a while...which are top 25 team but not a top 15 team.

If our top WR kids and Dline kid were to have left UK for a Bama, Ohio St, Tn, LSU, Texas AM, etc....I'd have about be done even attending games in person and care a lot less when I watch on TV...follow recruiting a ton less. As it's just a ponzi scheme to see those top 10 teams just corrale 5 star kids and then when they have a hole...they swoop in and take your best player. And Iowa, Ky, Pitt, Ole Miss, etc...are really AAA farm teams at this point.

And if that is the model going forward....I'll give a big middle finger to college football in general. It's not a sport..it's just a monopoly.

Don't feel bad. Iowa has signed two different 5* OL in the past 20 years and neither guy hardly ever saw the field in their college careers-- and we have a reputation for turning out OL to the NFL.

No matter the size there has to be some quick twitch muscle fiber there somewhere, he might could play some interior OL, but I don't think he could ever play outside. He just moves so slow.

Working as a carpenter couple decades ago and we were getting a delivery from K and I lumber. The delivery guy was a huge black man. He picked up an exterior French door with 1 hand and handed it down to us!! We asked him why he wasn't playing in the NFL. He laughed and said he didn't like all that violence!! Guy was just gentle. Always smiling, worked hard, but big as a house and strong as an ox. Some guys just don't have it in them.
