Two points that caught my attention. Said Monk was going to visit Oregon on an official (even though Monk has not announced his final list or visits). Also said he didn't think Arkansas' off the court problems would deter him from choosing Arkansas, but I don't believe that.

I almost hope that he waits until the spring to announce.

Arkansas is going to be awful this year. If he watches them get pounded into a losing record, Newman struggle with being double teamed all year because the rest of his team is trash, and UK produces 2 or 3 lottery picks, I can't help but love our chances.

I think an important thing about the Monk situation is that we will not be playing at Arkansas next season - so Monk would not have to go thru what Goodwin did his Freshmen year - playing in front of a bunch of hostile Razorback fans.

The Oregon visit kind of worries me - he's got a bunch of Hog fans in his ear badmouthing UK, and I could see him just wanting to get far away from it all for his one year in college. Oregon is about as far away as you can get.

If Newman's stock drops and Murray's rises, both of which I kinda expect, it will be a great recruiting tool. "That's what happens when you go to a school that doesn't specialize in developing players like we do. You go from top 5 pick to outside the lottery."

That could be another plus to him waiting.
