Yeah, especially considering the confirmed out are 3 of UKs Capts. and 3 of our 5 best players!
Would not shock me at all if 4 of our 7 Capts. aka 4 of our 5 best players are ruled out by kickoff Sat. night.

Miami OH is expected to win their division of the MAC and we are missing some guys so as others have said that had to play in it. The bigger question is why #2 OH State is a 17 favorite over #5 Notre Dame. It seems that is a pretty big spread for 2 top 5 teams.
Because ND is always over rated and the bookies know it.

I would be extremely disappointed if 10 years into Stoops era, our backups are not better than Miami OH starters by a wide margin.
Their classes since 2019 have been #92, NR (#100 is the max), NR, and #97 this year.

Truthfully I do not think you have much to worry about. Some alarmism is expressed earlier in the thread. Everyone has a right to their opinion. Mine is not based on who will miss the game, but on who will actually play in the game. Football is a team sport. Miami's offensive unit is for real. With or without CRod, so is ours. Miami's defensive unit is in rebuilding mode after losing a flock of key players in the transfer portal. Our defense should be the difference in the game, since it is probably the strength of our team.
The pregame spread does not matter to me because I am not betting on the game. I want us to win, and I hope injuries can be avoided. That is all I ask. I expect Miami will put up a good fight for at least a half. We want that. The following week in Gainesville will go better if our guys get pushed a little bit in the opener.

I'm gonna leave our game alone, if there's moneyline odds I'll probably tack it on in a parlay for the hell of it. I feel like we're going to steamroll them personally.
Miami is not a team that should be able to upset an SEC opponent, but they deserve respect. Judging by Stoops' previous history in openers I think this is what we may see tomorrow.

Conservative blocking schemes for the Oline for the most part.
Lots of 3-3-5. White will try to pressure Gabbard with the 3 down linemen and the Jack, plus presnap disguising of coverages. I doubt we will see much in the way of innovative blitzing or new coverage schemes in the opener.
Miami will sustain several drives in the 1st half by completing shorter passes, but the explosive plays in the game will mostly be Kentucky's.
Liberal use of younger players, some of whom may not be seen on the field very much in future games this year.
The game will probably appear competitive in the 1st half, and some of our more excitable fans will be angry and critical at halftime.
In the final score, Kentucky will be within one score of the spread, on one side of it or the other.
In the postgame fan chatter, there will be widespread predictions of doom and disaster for the following week in Gainesville.
Just guessing, based on experience.
