While i'm sure UL's guards are better than many of us thought, i'm not too worried about their backcourt beating us. If you haven't noticed by now, we seem to have a pretty good backcourt ourselves and if we are matched up with UL, they will get a dose of the best trio in the country at guards. Ulis, Briscoe and Murray are more talented and have more potential than the cards. With Ulis as our leader, i'm scared of no team in college basketball. We have the perfect floor general.
Very impressed with Lewis and Lee, they could present a challenge to our backcourt. That being said Louisville does not have another player on the team they can rely on. Get a few good plays from mathiang and Mitchell but nothing consistent.
Briscoe and Matthews (and ulis with on ball pressure) all will be able to provide perimeter pressure that either Lewis or Lee will have not seen. They will still get theirs though but it won't be enough. Should be another solid double digit victory for the good guys.

LOL they have one really good guard that is it. I wouldn't even rank their back court in the top 10 overall. UL blows this year and what I watch just proved that. Mich St looked like hot garbage and still won .

Impressed with UL so far. The guards dont play good D but should improve. I think they will lose some due to fatigue. The 2 5th year seniors cant play 40 min at that level consistently imo. Do give them credit though. They look better than what I thought in August
They look pretty good and athletic, but I doubt they shoot the ball that well every game, both guards scored more than their average.
thats the best they will play. the rest of the team...its who they really are against good teams.
UL's ok but MSU has one player who would start for us and MAYBE two others who could get some playing time.

They're not much better than I thought they would be because I looked at their stats from last year.
One great thing about our guards is the fact these guys actually enjoy playing defense and play it well. Most fans see a guy like Murray and not think of his D, but the way he can score the ball in so many ways. Briscoe and Ulis are pitbulls and can D up anybody. Matthews is a kid that i could see Cal putting on Lee if he were to get going a lil bit. Matthews has the size and can jump out of the gym. If we don't want to risk Murray/Briscoe/Ulis picking up a foul by playing tight D on Lee, we can throw Matthews at the kid and feel good about Matthews shutting him down. Lee has talent, but the way Lee plays the game, he takes so many shots and while he's on, he looks great. If he's not on, he looks like a ballhog that takes too many shots to put ut he stats he puts up. Not a huge fan of that type of player. I guess in a one game situation, it could help to defeat Kentucky, but i doubt it!
Harris is a really good player. Wanted us to go after him when he transferred. Still has yet to get his "sea legs" under him from when he was out but the kid will be very good come March.
It funny to me how so many people know exactly what will happen in a game that's almost a month away. Lol. And everyone says something different.
No offense but nobody has a clue what will happen in that game. Both teams should be much improved than what they are even now. Rivalry games are unpredictable, yet everyone thinks they can predict exactly what will happen. Quite funny.
