It has amazed me since I was young at how big of a baseball city Lexington is. Southeastern going back to 12 year old 50/70 world series, SL in regional and probably the favorite to win it and go to the 46/60 WS. SW always strong. Eastern is making huge strides in Little League. Lot's of very, very good baseball.

It is just not Lexington, but Kentucky as a whole is more of a hotbed for baseball talent. More pro's come out of Kentucky than any other sport. What helps Lexington and Louisville is the facilities are better with indoor facilities and more kids to draw from than other areas. Leagues in the bigger cities have as many has 500-600 in a league. Smaller areas have anywhere 150-200 kids. Talent pool not much different just more of them. I coach a 13u babe ruth team that just got back from Ohio Valley regional tourney. Most coaches up there always say that a Kentucky team is usually the favorite over Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and WV teams.
