Levis not even top 10 QB on CBS (Tom Fornelli)

CBS College Football page lists top QBs & Levis isn't even in this writer's (Tom Fornelli, whoever he is) top 10. I mean, I'm not entirely sold on Will being a top 10 draft choice, but to not even be top 10 among QBs is just a bit silly IMO. What say you?

FYI, new account but I've been on here off & on for 15 years. Just now decided to start posting again. Cheers, Cats!

I love Levis and think he's been outstanding. Guy has a ton of potential with the physical attributes that he has and I think he's done a good job of studying the game. It says a lot that he has pretty easily transitioned from 3 different OCs in 3 years. So, there is a ton of potential. However, if we're just talking about how good of a college QB he is... well, I think I can understand him not being in that top 10. I think a lot of QBs are perfect or outstanding college QBs, even if they don't have the tools to be NFL starters. Someone like a Stetson Bennett, who is pretty short, is not going to be looked on as favorably as a pro-prospect, but he's still an outstanding (and underrated) college QB. There are others who just play in the perfect type of system for them (Hooker) and they put up some gaudy numbers because of it, so they can be ranked high because, in their system they are outstanding QBs for their team.

So, I don't think it is too ridiculous if he's ranking them as top college QBs, but I think it is likely more ridiculous if he's ranking them as pro-prospects.

Writer doing it for views, Levi’s has proved he is a good QB and deserves to be in Top 10.

Levi’s’ numbers indicate he’s not a Top 10 college QB strictly speaking so I don’t think it’s out of the question to point that out while also saying he can improve over the last 2/3 of season and none of it has any bearing for his pro prospects.

Not a top 10 QB. But probably one of the top 2 QB's taken in the upcoming NFL draft. Mel Kiper has Levis as one of the Top-5 picks in the entire draft. I'll take Kiper's opinion over some guy from CBS that I've never heard of.

This weekend will go a long way to get Will more respect if he can produce at a high level. Our team and Will have been sold short for this game. Ole Miss runs a defense that is geared toward limiting the opponent’s passing game.

Will needs to prove he is a top 3 QB which would propel him and the program to heights not seen here in a long time. Hope he can.

This. He's an incredible NFL prospect but not a top college QB. Both can be and are true.

We don't play a style of football that's going to put up eye catching numbers. The good thing is that we have coordinators that have coached at the next level and nfl scouts know this. There is value in our "players" thought to be more NFL ready because of this.

If Levis played for Tennessee Penn state or Ohio state / any approved SEC football program this board and national writers would be claiming he’s simply the best.

The negative connotation to UK football breeds much of this even with our own fans. I mean we’re slobbering all over Hooker and Levis is just a decent college QB. Not buying any of it.

The interceptions is the thing that kind of sticks out when comparing with the other best. If it wasn't for that I think he gets better accolades from more people.

He already gets tons of accolades.
He may not be on this Top 10 list, but i bet he's the 3rd or 4t most talked about QB because of our success and his draft status.
Look at all the money he's making. Can you believe he transferred from Penn State. Is he more like Josh Allen with Tom Brady brain or Josh Allen with Joe Montana brain. Imaging when he plays Georgia.

I know you all don't want to hear it, but the media talks about Kentucky all the time this year. They love us. They love the defense. They love Mark Stoops. And they love Will Levis.

Hey Tom

you like to run your mouth?

here’s one for ya

I’ll put up $5,000 if there are 9 QBs drafted before Will Levi’s in his draft class 2023 or 2024!

you do the same, and we have a lil bet going. Just amongst us friends. For old time sake

how bout it

Tbf that’s not what he’s arguing. He’s saying Top 10 college QBs in terms of production not pro/draft projection

Kiper has the definitive list. This is kinda his jam. He has the most accurate track record in the game when it comes to projecting the draft. He is THE guy ala the brachetology guy in basketball

Great post Morg!

If Levis wants to be the number one draft pick... then just win baby.
Throw for 300, get three touchdown passes, run for 50, run a touchdown against Ole Miss and it'll be his for the taking.
Run with Levis is key.

I am not disagreeing w what you said, i am just commenting. bryce young is something like 39 on that stats list.

No one can go by stats (and i do not believe that is what you are saying). And i put no stock in these projections this early.

Remember woodson v brohm? The announcers were saying they would be the 1st 2 qbs drafted.

It is fun to discuss, but it is just talk
