What’s going on everyone! I’m Jarod Hamilton covering PowerMizzou and I wanted to come by and just chop it up with y’all about the game this week and answer some questions about the game if you have some.

Real quick I just want to say this is my second season covering the football team and I’m from Charlotte, NC and went to college at N.C. A&T. I say that to say I’m not a Mizzou fan nor did I go there. So, I call things as I see it.

With that being said, what do you want to know about Missouri?

How's their run defense? What kind of day can we hope to have from Ray Davis?
Generally, it’s pretty strong. They were the 8th ranked run defense entering last week and allowed LSU to rush for 274 yards. I don’t think that happens again this week mostly because Jayden Daniels had 130 yards himself and Leary doesn’t run as much.

Mizzou can get in the backfield in a hurry but sometimes it displays poor tackling. So, Davis’ day is TBD in a way.

It’ll be a battle of the trenches. Both teams have solid run defenses and improved O-Line play from a year ago.

Other than Burden, what are the skills and typical plays that the WRs make? Deep, shallow, outs, etc.?
Theo Wease is pretty good plying along the outside with some out routes or come backs. He’s there jump ball receiver and a pretty good red zone threat.

A player that UK may want to be weary of Marquis Johnson. A true freshman who is already the fastest on the team easily with legit track speed. He’s gets a handful of plays a week but he’s there deep threat and had three straight games with at least one catch for 42 yards or more. He’s a good decoy, too because he draws a lot of attention.

Mookie Cooper is the No. 3 receiver he’s a smaller receiver and is probably the second or third fastest guy on the team. He’s another guy looking to stretch the field. He’s a guy who they may use on screens or on go routes or deep posts.

What are the keys to a Mizzou win AND they keys to a UK win?

IMHO, it will come down to our offense being able to move the ball and score because you all have an elite scoring attack. Leary and our WR's have not played that great so far. Our defense has played pretty good up until last week, but gave up a ton of yards and points to the Dawgs.

For Mizzou, passing attack has to be firing like it’s been most of the season.

Have got to eliminate the mistakes (mostly penalties…111th in FBS in penalties per game).

Stop the run.

Get pressure on Leary. UK doesn’t allow him to get sacked much, Mizzou has to get some pressure on him. He’s not Daniels as far as breaking the pocket and running a lot so if they can collapse the pocket they’re in good shape.

And get takeaways. Mizzou had like 4 or 5 on the year. That won’t cut it. It has to win the turnover battle.

For UK, get the run game going and use it to set up play action where Mizzou is a little susceptible to something like that. Daniels torched them on play action last week.

Force someone other than Burden to beat you. It’s still a good passing offense but the volume of targets he gets opens it for everyone else. You limit burden somehow and that’s good for UK.

Another thing is use special team to your advantage. Mizzou has struggled a lot in special team especially when it comes to kicking. UK has good punt defense and a good kickoff returner. Take advantage of those things.

For both: win the trenches.

If you don't learn the difference in there and their you won't go too far in in your line of work.
