Legit question, how do other schools…

How do other schools go from low points, at least in recent years, to top 15 in a matter of one or two years? Examples being Louisville, Tennessee and not too far back Michigan.

Latter 2 have tradition and history. Also deeper NIL pockets.

Ul plays a high school schedule overall. That helps.
A dramatic change in one or two years to me could only be coaching. It is unlikely that freshmen can make that big of a turnaround.

In today's game hitting the portal to fill a big needs, recruit at an elite level. Get lucky on the coaching hire and hire the next GOAT.
 
Whoa, didn’t you know it takes a minimum of 10 years to build a football program? At least that’s what the old school UK fans will tell you, still shaking from the PTSD of so many years of terrible football and the curse of the Bear.

It all boils down to talent and coaching.

JM has been at Michigan like 9 seasons. This didn't happen overnight.

TN always had good players and of course helpers coaching played a role. He isnt anywhere close to a sec or ncaa title though.
