Says on Leach radio show he will take this year off from coaching to do some broadcasting. He's on live now.

Nice that he can take a year off, spend some time with his family, etc. I think John will be making up his mind over that year as to how he wants to go forward in his career. Does he try another head coaching job, move to the NBA, get a top assistant position at a high profile program, etc. If it's an HC job he'll probably have to start at a smaller program, and work back to the point of getting another Arkansas type job. Or something all together different. He's in his mid 40's now (smh) so he's no longer an up and coming young coach. Mulling it all over for a while is probably a good idea, especially since he can.

Wish UK basketball could find a spot for
John! One of my favorites. What determination and passion in the UK uniform . Nice smart guy. Good asst as well to one of the best Billy D

Yeah I'm not sure what the future holds for him coaching wise, but I believe mid-level and up schools are out.

I guess it depends on what you call "mid-level". I think that a school such as Wm & Mary, Marshall, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Akron, etc. would be glad to have John. He has experience at a high level, knows recruiting, and would be a good representative of the program and school. He may just be burnt out and wants to sit back and see what his options are. I think he eventually gets back to coaching.

If Billy can land middle of the pack Coaching gigs, John Will land on his feet.
