It has to and it will. Getting Flanningan healthy and Hatcher back will make a huge difference. In the mean time I fully expect Jones, Brown and Allen to take advantage of the extra reps and instruction. We are asking a lot from them right now. There was and will be growing pains but it will pay off in the long run.

Shoulder injuries are problematic, very easy to reinjure. Hatcher is an underachiever, maybe because he's undisciplined and unreliable. It's a damn shame the true frosh have been forced onto the field. Really needed a RS year for them.

Imagine if our starting LB's would have been Hatcher, Forrest, Love, Flannigan. A weakness could have easily become a strength. Can't wait to see where Stoops is taking us.

Are you Dwight Schrute? Just curious.

Jones looked very natural out there but he definitely made mistakes.

Brown didn't play, right, hopefully with the recovery from illness of Jones that he will now go on with the scheduled redshirt

I heard that brown didn't pkay but I swore I saw 35 out there so idk I think they are hoping to still rs him.

Our LBs, even at full strength, are below average for our conference.
It's gonna be a struggle all year.

I'll have to agree on Hatcher. He has not been the big time player everyone thought he would be, but he has two years left so he may finally show the potential. That said, getting suspended for three important early season games tells me he is just not maturing the way he should to be a reliable veteran for this team. We have to hope the suspension woke him up, but I have my doubts. He has not done much on the field yet to make me believe he is a game changing player for the defense, but he is a highly coveted athlete with experience so he definitely has a place on the field for this defense right now.

I said in another post that Kobie Walker has had injury issues his entire time at UK. I am just not sure if he ever contributes, but I hope he is able to get passed the injuries and see what he has. He came in undersized for a lber and I was not blown away by his HS tape, so we shall see how much he has developed.

I do like the young talent they have recruited, but these guys are really young and need more time in the weight and film room. Most are really not ready to play high level SEC defense yet, but the staff has no other choice but to put them out there and let them learn on the fly.

Agree about Hatcher. I will believe it when I see it.

Hatcher has played well at times in a back up role. When would he have starred? He was backing up a 1st rounder lol.
