I don't care if UCLA has some nice wins....if we're talking about CURRENT resumes, UCLA doesn't get in at (9-6) (let alone a 9-seed).

Hope they prove me wrong but I see a 10-6 or 11-5 SEC campaign coming which would not give us a 2 seed. More like 4-5.

I just hope we have the chance to play in the louisville regional. All we heard about last year was how important geography was, when placing teams in the brackets. With that logic I wouldn't be surprised to see us get shipped out west.

UK fans are supposed to be so smart, so intelligent when it comes to basketball knowledge yet some of our genius fans still can't count to 18 in regards to SEC conference play. My God, two different SEC teams have went 18-0 in the regular season the last two years...but still some people think we play 16 games. Sorry everyone, just a pet peeve of mine.

And on the OP's point, this bracket shows what I have long predicted...UK WILL NOT be allowed to play in the Louisville region unless they are a 1 seed. Geography will be used against UK here, as the committee won't think its fair to make UNC, or KU or whoever as a 1 seed play UK as a 2 seed in Louisville in the Elite 8.

I agree, unless UK is a 1 seed (which they won't be) I don't think they end up in Louisville unless there is a huge stroke of luck.

If we could continue to play like we did the other night then we won't lose many more. I know that's very unlikely to happen though. Especially away from Rupp.

Lunardi is horrible at actually getting the regions right, so this doesn't really do much on proof of your second point.

My prediction has nothing to do with Lunardi...it has to do with the NCAA committee and its bias towards John Calipari and the University of Kentucky which does exist. You just watch, UK could be the obvious "top 2 seed" come Selection Sunday in our minds and most ESPN analysts and the committee will say we are teh "2nd two seed" so they can justify NOT sending UK to Louisville.

^ Thought that might be the case, too lazy to look. Still, it's Des Moines, and I have to believe that more KU ALumni reside in St.L than in DM.

First and Foremost, knowing that there is a 18 game vs a 16 game schedule has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence rather awareness. Secondly, I am very well aware that we play 18 conference games but as I typed this up on my phone out of habit reverted to a 16 game schedule as we have only had the 18 game schedule for the 4th year now. I almost came back to edit it but honestly did not care to as I knew someone would come in with a Jackass response instead of just a correction and I was curious to see who that would be. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Your the Jackass!!!!!!!!

Of course the bracket won't look anything like that but WOW at the West region. and the East with NOBODY any it. Wonder what Joe's been smoking

Freaking UCONN could come out of that region as a low seed. It's happened before....

Right. They'd make a 2 seed UK play a 3 seed Arizona essentially in their backyard where they'd have 75% of the fans. It's happened before with UK as a #1.....Marquette AND Wisconsin in Minneapolis in 2003.

Lighten up Francis. I'm glad you had time to look up on your phone that the SEC is in fact on an 18 game schedule and were able to come up with an appropriate excuse for the earlier mistake. I applaud you and apologize for earlier.

It also seems odd that Kansas is his 4th number 1 seed right now. I would certainly think they'd be ahead of Maryland.

Me lighten up? your the one that has the pet peeve of not quoting out the appropriate amount of games and rather doing a modest correction you make a douchebag post and follow that up with a douchebag response to my reply. Did not have to look up the number of SEC games we have as I stated I am very well aware of it, don't care if you believe it or not. We have had 3 full seasons of an 18 game SEC schedule where the previous 20 years was a 16 game schedule so please forgive those that do not have an 18 game schedule automatically etched into their brain.

The NCAAT Committee has done many head scratching moves for several years. UK v. Wisc/Marq in Minny 2003, #1 OU having #2 Syracuse in Buffalo the same year, #1 Duke had #2 Baylor in Houston a few years ago.

Oklahoma got screwed that tournament also. They were a 1 seed and had Syracuse as the 2 seed in the East and I believe the Regional was played in Buffalo. Duke had Baylor in Houston 2010, but it's Duke so screw'em.

When it's all said and done, UK will get at least three of the following schools in its region: UNC, KU, Michigan State, Louisville, UConn, and Gonzaga in its region. They'll screw us. It's what they do.

^ your list is short on possibilities. add wichita state, indiana, notre dame, west vitginia for old time's sake, plus first round ivy league team or kentucky school.

I see a rough patch soon and then tweaks. Skal gets better and we go to the FF.

But right now, OU or KU would kick our young butt all over the court.

I'm not worried about march! Cal has shown he can get it done then, I hope we win games in order to be a top 4 seed. Cal has shown he loses close SEC road games if we have 2 losses going into SEC play.
