UK had four players foul out of a game for the first time since December 4th, 2010 against North Carolina

UNCheat!!!!

Yes, as Cal said after that game: "Can't touch 44."

IIRC the last 3 - 4 minutes of the game, it was like a parade for Zeller (a good FT shooter) going to the line to seal the deal for UNCheat.

Sounds about right. UK has gotten the shaft at UNC quite a bit as far as officiating goes. I love college basketball but the officiating is horribly inconsistent.

It's not really inconsistent. Home teams, especially in big games, consistently get the favorable whistle and sometimes it is startling so, like last night. It is clearly a trend in college basketball. Games like last night just make it embarrassingly obvious.

I remember that game- we were the better team that day and got screwed. We got revenge when it counted - in the Elite 8. If we face KU in the tourney history will repeat itself.

The calls last night didnt make me yell or scream per say....but there was a stretch in 2nd half where Kansas either scored or went to the line on multiple trips...hard to win when that happens

Plus, you have to take into account that:
EVEN IF A PLAYER DOESN'T ULTIMATELY FOUL OUT--- he has to pull back and play a little more timid because of his foul trouble, which a huge factor.

How many times did we see KU score, while a Cat with 4 fouls was hesitant to apply full defense on the play? That's also what makes a "cheap" BS 5th foul, like the one on LEE, so aggravating.

KU didn't even have to worry about that, at all.

If you rewatch and look at the 10:00 min. mark and we were up 62-60 for 6 minutes to the under 4 minute tv timeout Kansas didn't score a basket. Kentucky was called for 8 fouls between the 10min. mark to 3:30 minute mark and Kansas went 7 for 11 at the FT line and the Cats had 4 points(Murray layup at 9min mark & Murray jump shot at 4 minute mark) and the score was 66-66 at under 4 minute mark. Then Selden hits Kansas first basket at 3:30min mark with a 3 pointer and a 69-66 Kansas lead. Those 6 minutes were so critical with the Cats playing great defense they could have built on there 2 point lead 62-60 at 10minute mark. That was when the refs took over and called 8 fouls during that span on Kentucky and Kansas went to FT line 11 times and made 7. UK didn't have a FT attempt during that 6 minute span and Kansas was only called once or twice for fouls. That is where many Media Experts and fans were upset saying that the Refs hosed UK during the second half. The lalst 1 minute of play was dreadful too for UK when Poythress puts down the dunk and UK up by 2, 74-72 and that is when Selden went down and drilled another 3 pointer and put Kansas up 1 75-74 and Murray comes right back down and hits a 2 and UK leads 76-75 and if we could have stopped the 1 Selden 3 pointer at the 50sec. and Murray scores we would have been 4, 76-72. Then Murray blocks Selden's shot at the 20sec mark and if Skal could have held on to the rebound and not letting Ellis strip it away and Ellis fouled and tied the game the game would have been over. UK outplayed Kansas 98% of the game and they won it OT! The OT could had a great start but Briscoe goes 0-4 on FT's and Ulis had another uncharacteristic Turnover and Kansas once again had 1 basket and the rest FT's in OT to win. It was horrible rewatching from 10min of 2nd half and seeing how many times UK could have capitalized on there lead and could have won easy going away. The Defense was fine but the offense couldn't hit a basket.

I said this exact thing in another post and couldn't agree more. I had the same feeling following both games.

I remember Hansbrough that you couldn't get within two feet without being called for a foul.

Soon as Willis got his last phantom foul, Self switched to the triangle and two. Wonder how he knew Willis was gona foul out?

And it wasn't just multiple trips...but multiple consecutive trips...that's what killed us. A stretch of about 7 minutes where they shot nothing but FT.

He couldn't play that triangle and two until he got Willis out of the game. Some very touchy fouls called on one end only but it did not help that our guards let them drive the lane and our big men paid the price trying to help out.

I got pretty ticked that there were about 5 fouls called on us where the whistle wasn't blown until AFTER the shot was missed. That is just blatantly biased.

I also loved the possession where the old fart threw a blatant elbow to Poythress' chest and nothing then he misses and a whistle. NCAA needs to adopt the NBA's idea of grading refs after each game, and doing so publicly.
