Kyle Tucker: UK will have its longest team since 38-1

I sure hope they flap all those wings enough to be able to fly.

I agree but this team is greener. Should be interesting watching the development over the season.

I think this is true. And, how much room for error do you think this team will be given on this board. I would imagine a few early season losses or games where we look kinda lost will have many posters on here in panic mode and lots of negative posts showing up. Maybe many from those posters we only see on here after losses, perhaps? They will be in their glory early in the season if we don't look too good right away. Patience, by fans, will be an important key this year especially.

beginning of the year will be like pulling your hair out. End of the year will be exciting to watch.

Everybody says that about the beginning of the year....they are all on campus now amd practicing organized some and constantly playing ball...i for one dont agree about definite growing pains early....hit the ground running

38-1 had more and better shooters .length probably the only reasonable comparison

I think this team is going to be very good by March. Just like last year's team- which in my opinion, was the best team in the nation in March, only to be screwed by a certain ref. I hope we all remember how it all started clicking for Fox in late February and he turned into a dominant player in March. I think you will see the same progression with several on this year's team.

I see @3rex making a few appearances if we have a few early season loses.

You guys talking about early season lumps and pulling your hair out may be shocked.

This team is unlike any that even Cal has had a U.K.

With the size and quickness on Kentucky, If Kentucky isn't one of the best at playing D, these long 6'7¬6'9 kids with off the charts measureables will have a hard time coming up with an excuse Cal will buy into in. Diallo, Knox and Vanderbilt are all tall kids with long arms that can fly up and down the court with the best of them. PJ is a big dude, but can also get up and down the court quickly. PJ has very long arms. The only guy we will have on the court that doesn't have the insane length and quickness we're talking about is Green and luckily for us that kid will be at point guard and won't have to be the quickest dude on the floor.

If Alexander beats Green out then we have zero weaknesses.

It's not just fox. It was also Bam. Dom started playing better too.

The whole team was clicking a lot better in march.

And like you said, that ref sucked.

It's gonna be a fun year, not gonna expect them to be world beaters at the beginning of the season but hoping for a deep run in march, GBB:popcorn:

And far less experienced. I don't think this team really compares to any other Calipari team.

Yep. We all know that. It'll be interesting year I think.

Can't wait. Let's hope they are really challenging each other during practice.

Can someone confirm that 9 players with a minimum of 6'11 wing spans is the most ever at U.K. even more than the huge 2014-2015 team?

This team has potential to be unstoppable come March. Honestly don't see how anyone will be able to compete with us by then. I have a special feeling about this team. The same feeling I had in 2012 and 2015. They'll be young and they'll lose games, but boy. Going to be a fun year

Same every year our excitement over the amount of talent coming in. Then when we start getting into the season we see something that makes us vulnerable whether it be shooting, rebounding, depth, etc. This team is different from any I have seen in terms of the number of tall athletic guys.

Bodes well for teams that can't keep us from running. For teams that can slow us down, how well can we shoot threes and on D how well can we stop teams that have a strong inside game? That's really what it comes down to.

Who? Booker? Really not ranked much higher than Baker. Who by all appearances is at least his equal in shooting. Shai Alexander is reportedly a better shooter than both Harrison's. Green shot a very similar hs percentage as Ulis. Knox is a better shooter than Lyle's. Gabriel is a equal shooter to Poythress. Washington is much better shooter than Lee or Johnson. Vanderbilt will be a better shooter than Willis was from the bench. Richards doesn't shoot as good as Kat but is better than WCS. Jones was aloud to take and hit more often than not 18 footers as well as towns and way better than Lee. If Diallo can hit anywhere nere 30 percent. Than I dont see the better shooter in 15. The biggest difference is experience and the beast that KAT became but wasn't til Feb.

In other words this team has more offensive and defensive weapons and length and probably speed than any other U.K. team in history.

Just say it people....feels goooooooooooood.

Once the AP voters let all these facts set in Kentucky will be #1 come mid October.
