KSR - who UK fans shouldn't want to be UF's next coach

What an asinine post by KSR imo. So UK fans should root for UF to hire a terrible coach who sucks, because that will help UK.... ? Yeah, sure helps us a lot playing in a weak conference. I just don't understand this notion. Why would you root for other SEC teams to suck, it helps us to play better teams, so the better the SEC is the more battle tested we are come march. Its not about going 16-0 in the SEC (just ask the 14-15 squad) its about winning championships.

I for one hope whoever florida hires creates a juggernaut UF squad who challenges UK for years to come. Although it might not be fun losing to them every once in awhile, it makes our team better playing other good teams. Delayed gratification.

I have to agree with you on this one. If it were FB then I would hope teams like UT, USC and others had bad hires since the league is so tough, having an easier win in conference would be nice. But, in BB, we are THE team. We need some of the other schools to step up and make us play harder during the regular season so we are better prepared for tough tournament teams.

Going 40-0 is almost impossible today. Take a tough loss during the season and get tougher so we can hang #9

I hope they never win another game,, can't get any coaches to come there,, ever.. Thus causing them to shut down all basketball operations and never play again in that perspective sport.. They're just some fan bases I hate that much.. Indiana would be right there with em..

I used to want other SEC schools to do well, but now I could not care less if any SEC school is competitive considering all the chest-thumping and vitriol our league rivals demonstrated at the end of Tubby's tenure and during the Gillispie era when we were a bit down. We have 8 national championships, and 4 FF's in the last 5 seasons. Historically, the SEC has never really been much to brag about in basketball, yet UK is still the Gold Standard year-in-and-year-out. We play a great non-conference schedule to make up for the SEC's shortcomings, and despite playing in a weaker conference, we're still second all-time in NCAA titles, first in all-time in wins, and we're running out of room to hang FF banners on one end of Rupp.

In short: screw 'em all --- another league opponent's strength has historically had little bearing on whether UK gets to a FF or wins a title!
