For those of you KSR followers, this is the big announcement Matt has been hinting at. Barstool is acquiring KSR with plans to launch a KSR mobile sportsbook when expanded gaming gets legalized in KY.

Any guesses on how much they acquired them for?

It’s an interesting gamble by Barstool....it appears Kentucky will be one of the last states to adopt legalized sports gambling. KSR is the preeminent name in sports in this state but it could be several years before there is any return on that investment. For those of you KSR followers, this is the big announcement Matt has been hinting at. Likely that Barstool knows something we don’t about the sports gambling situation in KY. I doubt they would make this acquisition without knowing expanding gaming is coming to KY within the next year or twoIt’s an interesting gamble by Barstool....it appears Kentucky will be one of the last states to adopt legalized sports gambling. God...I hope you’re right but I have serious doubts this iteration of the statehouse will play ball on either sports gambling or marijuana legalization.Likely that Barstool knows something we don’t about the sports gambling situation in KY. Nope. Rule number 1 of KSR is that it will always be free.Don't see anyont commenting but is it possible that KSR now gets turned into a pay-site? No matter how you feel about Matt Jones KSR had valuable UK Sports info. I know that based upon the multitude of posts here where I would read a poster putting in the same information like they discovered it rather than quoting the source.....
I googled KSR ratings and revenue and the estimated revenue is $3-3.5 million a year. He is the number 5 rated mid day sports talk show in the entire country. The website gets on average over 300,000 hits a day. The ad revenue for that is monstrous. Of course he got investors for the restaurant. Anyone with no clue on a business is going to get investors for security and help on a start up.
OP was wrong about them being acquired by Barstool. And this is only the website, has nothing to do with the radio show.

An Announcement on the Future of KSR | Kentucky Sports Radio
It is with great excitement that I am happy to announce that the website KentuckySportsRadio.com has been acquired by Stuart McWhorter and we will be partnering with him and his team to grow ourkentuckysportsradio.com
Why are you so mad that he has an opinion different from yours?
Would guess something more like 15 mill. Otherwise, why would he sell?😂😂😂😂😂😂. ^
I think rabid has left the hole.Jones provides a service for a rabid fan base. He has a radio show (including pre game and post game) that connects the fans everyday. Love him, hate him, doesn't matter. KSR is here to stay. I for one enjoy his show.
I think rabid has left the hole.
He is setting himself up to run against McConnell in 2050
I'm independent but I'll deny it. I don't think Mitch will be very active at 108 years old. That’s Mark Stoops vs. Nick Saban, politically.
No one, even those who like MJ’s politics, can deny.
God he's so full of himself. Spent the first 30 min of the show letting us know how big and important he thinks he is. Just tweet it out and be done with it. I don't want the entire first hour of the show dedicated to it just because he wants everyone to kiss his ass.
Yeah I’m sure we’ll be last of all the states around us on both fronts. I’m sure we’ll gladly send our money out of state instead of being proactive and cashing in for maybe a year or two at this point before we lose the head start we could have had. Oh well.God...I hope you’re right but I have serious doubts this iteration of the statehouse will play ball on either sports gambling or marijuana legalization.
