KRS Thursday 4/27: Bilas will be on the show at 11:30 a.m.

Ask him how he can be associated with the firm that handles the PR for UNC in its scandal and not have a conflict of interest, but the SEC commissioner does when heading the panel that will decide UNC's fate? So no one from another conference can ever sit on an NCAA enforcement or COI that rules on a school from another league?

If so then why is it not a conflict for an AD to head an NCAA selection committee that decides the fate of teams from other leagues?

I think Bilas is wrong in this instance, but I still hope he argues circles around MJ. He irritates the hell outta me.

I just wonder if MJ will press him. Seems like he gives people like Bilas a pass.

I'm not expecting Bilas to get his feet held to the fire, lawyer to lawyer to so speak

I like Matt and KSR but he won't press Bilas bc it is Bilas! Anyone else and he would be arguing with them!!

MJ was hinting at a story that he can't comment on. Sounded like it was about him, or that he was involved somehow. Anybody know what it is?

I'm thinking maybe it's the Papa John no longer being on that board story. Don't know how MJ is connected to that though.

Zero chance. Doubtful MJ even researched the facts in the case. Bilas is gonna argue that they were just easy classes and not under the NCAA'stripped jurisdiction. MJ will prolly agree instead of bringing up the emails that showed academic fraud was going on, tutors were writing papers, and unauthorized personnel were changing grades to keep athletes eligible.

He hasn't. He has talked about this a couple times and doesn't even know Bilas's reasoning.

regardless , as a result of this Biilas won't change his position and will still be given a platform on ESPN to proclaim their innocence.

Well, I understand Bilas's point even less now. I think it was over the Auburn thing, but no. He seems to be saying, it's the mere appearance of a conflict of interest. Because....reasons. smdh.

MJ appears to be agreeing with Jay. Good Lord.

But then he compares it to the perception that Higgins was biased against UK, and Bilas jumped in and forcefully denied that he does. How the hell does Bilas know that?

Bilas is a total ESPN toe-the-line-for-UNC clown. Nobody with a modicum of common sense believes his crap or should "respect his opinion" because it is bullshit. IMO.

I may be UnAmerican for this take, but hearing JShort try to ramble through a conversation makes me want to kick puppies.

I agree. I know Short is challenged and he is a huge UK fan, but it is nails on a chalkboard when he calls in. It's almost impossible to understand most of what he says, which is kind of important on a show with a lot of callers.

I disagree. I thought he did dance around it some as was expected. However, he did give Jay an opportunity to explain himself. However, he failed to clearly explain his stance.

On KSR today......mentioned UK fans on his Sankey comments in not a favorable manner.

The Higgins justification is there because Higgins doing big games causes this conflict. If you say Higgins is bias, its a different argument.

So Bilas basically playing word games on these discussions to state his case.

Bilas sounded very defensive with everything he talked about and still considers Sankey/UNC to be a conflict of interest, like we wouldn't want a 'UNC guy' being accountable for a UK issue.

Jesus, why the hell does an Athletic Director have so much power? It's beyond ridiculous.
Since we are airing grievances (I love the show, btw) I think it's wrong the way they built up KY Joe and now treat him like a joke. They even dedicated an entire episode to whether or not they should curtail that relationship in its infancy b/c it went to Joe's head and was making a fool of himself at KSR events. They eventually decided to keep Frankenstein's monster and let it get even worse b/c it generated ratings and Twitter activity. I dunno. Seems they used a troubled man for entertainment and I've never liked that. You can tell Joe is a fragile man and it would be awful if something happened and KSR was left holding the phone on the other end. Very dangerous game they play with that man.

I think it's because early on he was basically one of Matt's "wack pack", but he started throwing around his affiliation with KSR and passing himself off as an employee of the show. I think that really pissed Matt off. His songs are garbage and way overrated too.
