Just knocked off Arizona and had 19 points and 8 assists while being in foul trouble. Scored last 11 of 13. Playing Michigan State and Denzel Valentine which should be the top 1 on 1 matchup so far and maybe all year. I know this is a Kentucky board, but thought Dunn deserved a thread to discuss his play so far etc. To me, he is clearly the best player in college basketball so far. Really fun to watch!

Valentine vs Dunn will be a must watch. I'll take Denzel though, he's more of a match up problem due to his size.
Intersting. I'm too lazy to look up but I thought they were both about 6'5 ish. Valentine may be a little bigger but Dunn is a PG and much more athletic while Valentine is a better shooter. I take Dunn but think it's anyones guess as both are great players.
Yeah Valentine can post you up, not sure Dunn can do that consistently. WCS pretty much shut down Dunn last year when they met. I think he would have a tougher time guarding Valentine.
Dunn is fun to watch for sure and the way he was hyping his teammate up that grabbed that steal and chucked it down the court for him to take a 4 pt lead and ice the game made me like him even more. Today was a really solid College basketball day to me for sure. Quality games all over and got to watch the Cats so I'll go to sleep happy
Oh yeah today was great. spent all day watching games. felt like every sports channel I turned too there was a close basketball game. it's actually felt like that all year. been a great year so far.

It's a victory for the college game since he could have gone to the NBA and very likely would have been a lottery pick had he left.
In the consolation game of this tournament, we've got another matchup between two teams that have already played each other once this season. Texas and Washington played each other a couple days ago after playing one another in China to open the year. Now Arizona and Boise State go at it again after playing each other about a week ago in Tucson.

While were UK fans, we are also college basketball fans as well. Our kids are older and more active now, so my CBB warching is limited, so I love hearing more about players
I watched that game and Zona looks really average for a coach that I thought was supposed to be an amazing recruiter . anytime Gabe York is your SG you have talent problems IMO.

I love watching Dunn play. Kid is the real deal and will be pulling for the Friars to take Sparty down. I'm currently up in Michigan hanging with a bunch of Spartan fans. I got a bunch of negative comments from all of them last night when they showed highlights of UK smoking USF during halftime of their struggle against Boise State last night.

Looks like Dunn is trying too hard to show everyone he is tge best pg. 4 turnovers snd he has forced a few plays that weren't there. He just needs to play his normal game and forget about impressing the cameras.

Yeah, Dunn seemed to be forcing things early (though the baseline spin was really nice). Perhaps trying a little too hard.
MSU is impressive, and it feels like they should be up big. But it's close. Fun game watch.
PU is shooting at a 50% clip right now, while Sparty is at 41%.
If either of those trends toward the norm in the 2nd half, Sparty could win this one going away. They normally shoot at a 51% clip, and PU @ 44%. With all the turnovers PU has had so far, they're lucky to only be down 2 points, imo. Dunn is trying way too hard.

i thought wc-s guarded pc's lefty wing last year (ledontae henton or something?) while an injured dunn challenged bledsoe's arena record for times falling down on the court. people love him though

Dunn has really played well in the 2nd half. He has had some awesome feeds into the post. If he was on a team with better talent he would look soooo much better. I reslly like the way he plays.
Six point swing there. Lomomba's three point shot correctly didn't count as the ball was still just touching his fingertips as the shot clock hit zero, then Matt McQuaid hit a big three for MSU at the other end.
He's only averaged around 2 turnovers I think for the year and for how much he does that is not much. hasn't had 1 this half I don't think either. Just had a rough first half but hard to call him reckless
Yea Wall, Curry, Harden, Westbrook all turn it over too much but I guess you can live with it with guys like that haha.
I dunno about reckless, but Dunn doesn't do a great job of holding onto the ball. He averaged a shade over 4 turnovers a game last year, which to me is a lot for a point guard (especially at the college level).
I won't get on Dunn too much for one performance (especially after what UK did to Grayson Allen), but a move to shooting guard in the NBA would be in his best interest. And yes, he's really really good. I'd take him on my team and so would anyone else.
Dunn/Valentine was the main spotlight, but the supporting casts made the difference. MSU got a ton from Davis, Forbes and Harris while Providence really got nothing from theirs outside of Bentil.
