If I am reading this correctly Kordell Looney did not play football his freshman and sophomore seasons because the team was not very good and he wanted to focus on hoops. The new high school football coach apparently talked him into playing his junior year and he gets a SEC scholarship offer ten months later. That must have been quite a ten month period going from not playing, practicing technique or being on any college coaches radar to getting a KY offer and being ranked as a top 50 DT in the nation. Not sure if I have seen that before.
JR- what do you make of this and while Rivals ranks him as a top 50 DT is this a bit of a gamble? Are there just a limited amount of SEC DTs out there and when a player looks like he might be really good even though there is not much of a track record does UK need to take that chance? Regardless, cheers Kordell and welcome aboard!
