I'm not complaining if a 5-star guard wants to commit to UK, AT ALL. However, just curious if anyone thinks Simmons and Matthews are kind of a similar guard?

Lol I said kind of . Also I think "very" is a stretch. It's just my opinion. Similar heights, skinnier frames, both are considered to be just okay shooters (could prove people wrong though), combo guards, not considered to be as skilled guys, but more guys who use their athleticism. Now Kobi is a 1-2 and we consider Matthews a 2-3, but I think I remember Matthews saying in high school he wanted to play some 1 in college and thought of himself as a 1-2-3 guy. I could be wrong about that, but I pretty sure I remember that. But anyway, when I really think about it, I don't see their games being THAT different. Obviously they aren't completely the same, but come on, no one else besides me think they have KIND OF similar games? If no, I'll just accept that I'm wrong lol.

On top of all of that, I just saw on another thread people saying Simmons could play the 3 and someone compared him to Liggins. Matthews has been compared to Liggins over and over again.

Having Mulder and Matthews back, with the possibility of more, I doubt we get all the perimeter players people on here seem to expect us to.

Matthews is way under-valued. He will be our top backup at Guard this year and in the regular 7 man rotation. Not many teams in College Basketball will have a backup as good as him.

Matthews is a great player but he will be mostly , if not entirely , used as a SF while here . Next year he and Bridges will get all the minutes at 3 . IMO our roster next year in terms of the 1 and 2 spots will look like this
pg- Fox / Hawkins
SG- Monk / Mulder
Combo - Simmons

Bridges will play the SF position here and that's the position he wants to play. He's a quality shooter and is a huge match-up problem for opposing players.

Bridges will play some at sf, but if you think he won't play some at pf, You're Going to be proven wrong. The fact he is such a good shooter and a mismatch waiting to happen is the fact he can and will play some in the post. He plays way bigger than his height.
