This kid is a 4 star rated in the 70's or 80's from Campbellsville, not too far from me. I was just wondering why we never had any interest in him. He could have been a nice 3 or 4 year player, and IMO he's going to be a very good college player. He would definitely be better than Hawkins as he's a more gifted offensive player. But he's headed to Xavier. I don't know. He's a Kentucky kid and he just seems like he would have been a good role player off the bench for next year. He's a really good athlete. He seems to be a pretty good shooter, good ball handler, good passer, and can get to the rim and finish through contact.

We definitely have some 3-4 year player "bigs" in Humphries and Wynard, why not mix in a 3-4 year guard, much like Hawkins, to go with them?

I've never seen the kid play, so no comment on his abilities. However, were pretty full for next year with our incoming recruits + more than likely Dom, Willis, Mulder, Wynard, Humphries, Matthews...then maybe one or more from Ulis, Briscoe, Lee, or Skal.

Was offered by UofL his junior year, but rumor has it he waited to long so Pitino pulled it. I think playing time was probably the major dececiding factor for the kid. Also the kid wanted to be a lead guard PG, besides a combo guard. I think Pitino pitched him as a Terry Rozier type and he wants to play PG. He and his family are UofL fans, so very shocked he didn't chose the Cards. Really to far down the rankings for Cal to give him a look IMO.

Cal watched him play versus Tatum and he was destroyed. He also watched him play against Kennard, who was obviously far better. And UK moved on.

I don't know if Calipari prioritizes players like that... or if he even should. He typically targets the best of the best, and he gets his fair share.

If a player like Goodin comes to UK it is usually a combination of several factors. First, he has to really want to come to UK and hold out for an offer. Second, he has to be patient and wait until the Spring signing period to see if UK has an opening or a need.

Quentin's a very good player and a great kid, but he had better offers than to come and be an end of the rotation guy at UK. Xavier is a great fit for him, from a talent level standpoint, to an academic standpoint, to a coverage/pressure standpoint.

Truth be told, if David Sloan (PG, Taylor County) had Quentin's size, he'd be a top 30-40 player in the class of 2017.

Yes I agree Size is the only thing holding Sloan back
