UK has a tough series this weekend on the road, but things lighten up the two weeks thereafter with two of the worst SEC teams coming to LEX.
In looking at our competition for national seeds:
1) Auburn and Miss state play this weekend, key series in terms of who will compete with UK, UF, and Arkansas for the SEC title.
2) Clemson and UNC play this weekend. Key for seeding and ACC title hopes.
3) UL continues to play no one, don't really have another hard series until playing at Clemson the second-to-last weekend before returning home to play disappointing FSU. It's interesting in looking at RPI that UL is #6 even with playing the 191st toughest OOC schedule (LOL) and an over all SOS in the 60s (UK by contrast has played the 3rd toughest schedule overall).
4) UF has a pretty easy finishing kick (@GA, Ole Miss, @ Bama before playing UK at home). They'll be right there in the SEC and national seeding race.
5) Tx Tech and TCU play this weekend. If UK can sweep or go 2-1, they'll have a chance to move up a run or two ahead of one of these two teams.
6) I'm hoping that LSU and A&M, two UK victims, will help us down the stretch as they both play MSU, LSU plays Auburn, and A&M plays arkansas. If these two teams can finish hot, it would help UK in the race for the SEC title.
