See this is why many folk here need to simmer down for a minute. I want our coach gone ad well, for a multitude of reasons. He is here next year, we are stuck. So I want him to put together a freaking squad here. I'm gonna remain optimistic he can do so....then we have to worry about him coaching which is another story
I guess my point is, that coach of ours has already stolen alot of my joy and love of UK basketball.......there are many valid reasons I want him gone. How can I want him gone for next years roster when we don't know kw what it is yet?? Makes no sense, we don't what the staff is doing or who we are involved with right now
I'm not gonna late the coach steal my off season joy or hope for next years team. He's already taken enough for now from this fan.

He's a good defender but 26% from 3 and 63% free throw shooter.

Yeah gotta love those kinds guys. The Bradshaw rumor is concerning though, does he not want to compete at all or even have a backup on roster? Yikes. If that's the case take two transfer 4s and let him walk.

Posted about him earlier as being the perfect guy to put next to Oscar because of his help defense. Also knows what it takes to get to a FF.
If Bradshaw is like that, then just recruit over him this season and let him pout on the bench.
You guys act like you know what the staff is doing. “I’m so pissed we only are going to have 9 guys!” Get real. You don’t have a clue. Just let it all work out. Then judge if you’d like . You all think it’s the end of the world anytime someone transfers , chooses another team, or declares . Relax. Go enjoy your life and wait and see what happens come the end of May
Exactly, everyone is palm sweaty over the portal. We didn't lock up 3 top tier transfer in the first few weeks so Cal is doing nothing! We have no plan! The roster will be incomplete and we can't win! Silly statements all around. Cal always seems to find serviceable to great players/teammates in the portal, and they are often last minute adds and unexpected. Just chill out and flip your lid after portal season is over if you don't like how it shaped out, but panicking this early is for naught based on past results.
You think fringe guys like Livingston and they end going to the draft and they aren’t ready or guys leaving when they bring somebody in is good. Cal is basically building a brand new roster every year and is left one -two players short
No, it's not "good." But what do you suggest he do? This isn't a UK thing, this is happening to some degree at a lot of schools.
Do you want him to beg Livingston to comeback? Hands and knees? It's just the new landscape and mentality of the current generation of players. UK probably started the trend back in the early 2010s but its since proliferated around the country.
What exactly should we do though, Chris was ~12 ranked outta high school. Kids like that are expecting to go as soon as possible to the NBA. Most of the kids in the top 12 have declared. Nick Smith, Dariq Whitehead, Dereck Lively, Dillon Mitchel, GG Jackson, Keyonte George, Amari Bailey, Cason Wallace, Jarace Walker, Cam Whitmore, Brandon Miller, Julian Philips, Anthony Black, Adem Bona, Jordan Walsh.
So that leaves, of the top 20 on 24/7 composite, who didn't declare as: Filipowski, Kel'el Ware, Arterio Morris, and Mark Mitchell.
He hasn't even made his decision yet and some of you are talking like he is either staying in or transferring 100%.
Because it's well known he would only play the 3 and not the 4.
I'll still wait to hear it from him before I start the hand wringing.
And if he wants to go, so be it, Cal will likely get a good backup and I expect Edwards to be far superior to even a 2nd year Livingston.
we’re acting like Livingston is gone because everybody is saying he is staying in the draft or transferring out. Yes and then there are schools that have solid roster construction, cal has had bad roster construction the last few years that’s on him. Nobody said anything about begging on his hands and knees to bring players back. I suggest a coach who has gotten burned the last couple of years and has been terrible at building rosters the last couple of years build a good roster, I also suggest he not have one damn shooter on the whole team and watch that shooter go ice cold again, which as of right reeves will be the only shooter on next years roster. My suggestion is he stop doing the same stuff from early on his career and expecting it to work, the game and college landscape is changing and cal isn’t adapting
He replaces Ware as a better version of what Ware did. Tad smaller but twice as athletic. Isn't a starter but a solid back up who wouldn't scare off a Bradshaw or any other higher profile guy. I like him but we need a couple of STARS to commit. Oscar, a big time shooter, and either Livingston or this guy and we keep Bradshaw. I'll take it.
This is the guy I wanted from the day he entered the portal. Put a scorer with him and you've got something. If this team scores like it is capable of scoring, he's perfect.
