Kerr out 3-6 weeks

Best wishes to Kerr for a quick recovery.

Hopefully Perry can give us some spot minutes at point guard. Hopefully he can get some extended run in the Colgate game.

I look to see more Robinson at point as well when Butler needs a spell.

When Butler needs a breather, my guess is we’ll see more of the lineup with Jax at PG

PG - Jax
SG - Oweh
SF - Brea

Chandler and Perry providing spot minutes at SG/PG

I look for Perry to get his 1st and maybe only start of his Kentucky career against Colgate. No since I’m rushing butler back, and no sense in running Robinson out there for the point against Colgate

It's being called a "Jones fracture" timeline I see is 3-4 months?
I obliterated my scaphoid (wrist) many years ago and the fracture was in a spot with poor blood flow. Recovery was 3-4 months, but that was because we tried to let it heal on its own.

The bone started to atrophy, so the next options were to screw the bone fragments together and/or graft healthy bone to it.

Sounds like UK isn't playing any of that wait-and-see BS. Once I had surgery, recovery was 4 weeks in a cast and 2 more weeks with a brace.

Edit: timeline. Sorry! Also, I bring up this experience because one of the hallmarks of the Jones fracture is poor blood flow to a bone near a major joint.

I would almost guarantee they will be screwing it either way to a plate or something and starting the process ASAP. He will get the best treatment daily for it as well.

Prayers for a speedy recovery for the young man! Sucks our back up PG is out hopefully JR can fill in like he did last night for a little while. He did an awesome job!

Doubt we see Perry much in big games. It will be Jax as backup PG. Perry got 1 minute last night. With both down and Pope had more faith in Jax than Perry. Maybe Colgate and Brown game we might see him for 5 to 7 minutes. He can continue to work hard, get in better shape, needs quickness, work with trainers and get the lateral quickness in form. Maybe by Mid January he can really help in big games. Our best bet and maybe our better lineup for the 2nd set is Jax, Oweh, Brea, Almonor and Carr or Garrison.

Gah! He played a critical role in our comeback last night. I bet he’ll continue to lead from the sidelines. Too late for a medical redshirt?

Exactly what that play looked like In the video of it.

Common causes of a Jones fracture include:
    • Sudden force on the outside of the foot while twisting the foot away from the body
Treatment options
    • Cast: A non-weight-bearing cast for 6-8 weeks
    • Splint: A splint if there is a lot of swelling
    • Crutches: To keep weight off the foot
    • Surgery: A minimally invasive procedure called arthroscopy that involves making a few small incisions in the foot
Maybe that is where the 6 week timeline is coming from. Surgery to fix it, then 6-8 weeks in a cast, maybe an air cast to keep weight off while he heals.
