Rumors were he was asking for 750,000 and couldn't get it.
It is but hell I can’t blame them. The ones that seem to be doing it don’t have much of an NBA future so I get them trying to get what they can .I'm fine with players getting NIL but these bidding wars are ridiculous.
Wow, wonder what the highest offer was?
His play doesn't warrant 750000 pennies.Rumors were he was asking for 750,000 and couldn't get it.
"College" sports are a joke at this point.Welp, let's break it down. 9.9ppg on 31 mpg. 36% from 3, and 37% from 2.
Krisa isn’t even worth 25 thousand dollars let alone that ridiculous amountRumors were he was asking for 750,000 and couldn't get it.
I don’t see how WVA can pay Krisa, battle, Edwards and Mitchell all ridiculous amounts, there is no way they have that kinda of breadWe really need to get Tre locked up now before he changes his mind.
Players literally should of just been made employees by the University.
Give them $50K a year and end this madness
A lot of places, heck probably even most couldn't afford that.

Yeah. But I can’t see how the top pros (in the big 3 sports) are wordy 30-50M/yr. How!? $3M/gm in football, $600k/gm in basketball, $250K/gm in baseball ($1M/gm for a pitcher)"College" sports are a joke at this point.
None of these players is worth anything close to this money unless you start literally profit-sharing with the Athletic Departments.
There's got to be a correction at some point. The market demands it.
This isn't communism. A 5 star stud qb at bama shouldn't get the same as some bozo online man at MTSU.
I'm sure there's all sorts of funny math going on in these organizations... salary cap and profit sharing ensures at least some tethers to reality, I would guess.Yeah. NIL can help pay for these athletes through the University if the University can't afford it. (Which I doubt they couldn't)
Bottom line this should have all been standardized and not become a free market.
The NCAA needs to come up with an NIL pay structure, for example each team can pay up to 1 Million for the top player, the second best player receives up to $750,000, the 3rd $500,000, 4th best $450,000, if they don’t do something then these players are all going to transfer out to the highest bidder. What’s currently happening is terrible and will only get worse, if not addressed by the NCAA.

Those numbers are only slightly worse than Arthur Kaluma’s numbers who some on this board made out to be a superstar. Somehow guys in the portal are super human now, they gain special powers by being in the portal.Welp, let's break it down. 9.9ppg on 31 mpg. 36% from 3, and 37% from 2.
That’s pay for play, not NIL. Pay for play is not legal per NCAA rules. The NCAA has no standing to limit a players name image and likeness. The NCAA needs to come up with an NIL pay structure, for example each team can pay up to 1 Million for the top player, the second best player receives up to $750,000, the 3rd $500,000, 4th best $450,000, if they don’t do something then these players are all going to transfer out to the highest bidder. That won’t stop NIL. NIL is an antitrust thing. Precedence has been set.Players literally should of just been made employees by the University.

NIL can’t be capped. You can’t hinder what a person makes. The NBA has salaries but doesn’t have anything to do with NIL. NBA players can make whatever they want outside of the league using NIL. College players or anyone else has that ability.Basically a Salary cap, I guess?

I wasn’t saying we needed the guard, I was talking about how much guys are hyped up just because they’re in the portal.Kaluma is a stretch 4 that shoots 31% from 3 on a shit ton of attempts. Also shoots it much better from 2. 12 and 6 guy. Was a much bigger need than another guard.
