Series is already Texas A&M's. Now can Kentucky change their trajectory (pull up before crashing into the ground)?

2-1 in the bottom of the 4th. Scored one in the 1st and second. Texas A&M scored in the 3rd. We've managed to get a runner picked off 1st again.

Two out, runners on 1st and second because of a single and a bunt single. Chasing the starter in the bottom of the 4th. Gilliam up. Routine fly out to right. :-(

Must be that we've reached the end of the A&M bullpen. Last reliever wild pitched, walked and wild pitched to score a run. Too bad we couldn't have done more yesterday. Another reliever and another wild pitch to score another run. Then McCarthy tries to score on the last pitch of a walk to Grant Smith, gets called out.

Frieda comes on in relief in the top of the 6th. Gets a ground out over 2nd then walks the #9 hitter. Luckily Waldschmidt gets to a ball almost no one things he can get to and hits the cutoff Smith and then he doubles off Bard before he can get back to first. We go in order in the bottom of the 6th. Still 4-1 Kentucky

Nove comes in in the 7th and looks wildly good. He gets two fly balls and a strike out. Fine to throw 58 ft fastballs when no one is on. Has a lot of action on his pitches. His last pitch moved so far off the plate that the batter almost fell over trying to make contact.

Flood gaes open in the bottom of the 7th when the Cats score 4 on an HBP, single, walk, triple and a sac fly. 8-1 Cats.

Nove goes a second inning and survives a two out double with three fly outs. They are making good contact. I bet we see Hagenow in the 9th.

Cotto instead of Hagenow. He comes in and has pretty good control gives up one infield single surrounded by three strike outs, the third a called strikeout. Good to see four good relief efforts: 2 hits out of 20 batters, 5 K's and only two walks in relief, no HBP's in that effort too. I think that catch by Waldschmidt and throw out by Smith should count as a double play. Worked like one.

Needed that win. Good to see Cotto throw well. No Hagenow at all this weekend is really surprising and concerning.

Good resilient win by the cats today. I think Ming got one of his good bunt for a base hit plays today, but otherwise I question a lot of his decision making (again).

We are now in a position where we need to win a series as an underdog to end the year. We will be the dog in each of our last four series, so hope we can pull one out in Nashville.

All of those we are battling with for position spots are in series they will most like win while we are in Nashville. If we go 2 games over 500 the next month we should be in good shape. Losing this and uga series has put us on our heels.

Agreed. I would feel very good if we had won this series and were sitting at 12-6 in the league. By losing 2 of 3 at home, we are now in a position where we're going to need 1-2 upset series wins.

Is winning 15 SEC conference games during the regular season kind of the necessary win total to making the NCAA tournament? I know the team has higher goals, but when you look at the rest of the schedule, it is absolutely brutal.

15 is generally seen as a lock to get in. With UK's RPI, 13 or 14 might be enough but I wouldn't want to leave it to chance.
