We didn't have a game last night so it seems like we are out of sync as online fans. Maybe our fantastic performance so far has people discouraged. Surprised not to see a game thread.

1-0 in the bottom of the 2nd. HR by Schultz.

Kessler HBP, followed by a Golda double, Lewis grounds out to first but advances the runners. Estep then singles to right scoring Golda, then gets picked off leaning, Shelby strikes out but it is 3-0 Kentucky.

Hazelwood gets two on after getting two outs but gets back in control and gets a very nice strikeout to end the top of the third. He gave up a single, WP, and then walked Womack but struck out Velasquez.

I've been moving all day. Lost track of time. Sorry. Haha

Hazelwood looking solid. Gives up a nice opposite field single, then bears down and strikes out the next three, two looking.

I hope we aren't relaxing with a 3-0 lead. We've done little (0-6) the last two innings.

Hazelwood gives up a bunt single, strikes out two, and then Kessler gets the put out on a steal. Really slid past the bag. And the requested review didn't overturn the tag out by Golda.

A failed bunt single, followed by ground out. Then Shelby bloops a single then steals 2nd. Schultz singles to the right side but Shelby caught trying to stretch two bases out of it. A bit better inning on offense but no runs.

Hazelwood up to 89 pitches but only gave up a single, got a fly out, ground out, and a strikeout. Is he at his limit? We got 6 good innings out of him.

Collett struck out looking. Anu pops up weakly to left, but it is dropped by the third baseman, but Anu is spacing out and not hustling, gets thrown out trying to get back to first when he should have been on 2nd. Rhodes doubles and Kessler finally gets a single to left to score Rhodes.

Kessler shows off his blazing speed by getting thrown out trying to steal. So we don't have any official errors but we had two mental errors in just this inning.

Edit: turns out Golda struck out first. Must have been a hit and run minus the hit.

Hazelwood comes out for the 7th and the defense looks pretty good behind him. Estep makes a nice pick up and Lewis makes a glove flip to first for an out. Hazelwood then gets a nice strike out on a checked swing that wasn't.

Norfolk State's pitcher is getting the ball up a lot, helping our hitters. Lewis gets an opposite field single. Walk to Estep, followed by a single by Shelby scoring Lewis easily. Nice to finally be able to use Lewis's speed.

Schultz gets a nice single scoring Estep and the runners move up when the ball gets away from the catcher. Driving out the pitcher. Still no outs and 6-0.

Collett doubles off the reliever scoring two. 8-0. Braden Daniel pinch runs for Collett.

They intentionally walk Trae Harmon who came in to pinch hit for Anu. Guess he should have legged out the pop fly. Rhodes doubles scoring one. Wouldn't expect them to send Harmon.

Kessler grounds out to first scoring Harmon. We've chased the reliever. Still only one out.

Golda grounds out to short but scores the runner (Rhodes) from third. Two outs and we have now batted around. 11-0 Cats. Lewis strikes out ending the 7th but we did get 7 runs that inning.

Darn... Ron Cole gets two outs and then, we do our thing. Two singles followed by an wild throw to advance the runners, followed by a wild pitch to score a run. 11-1

Probably sitting at needing 19 straight error free games to reach Mingione's 980 fielding mark.

EDIT: Looks like it is only 18 straight error free games (plus a fraction) to get to 980.

Brendan Hord gets a single in his first at bat. Braden Daniel wears a pitch to get two on with two outs in the 8th. Harmon beats out an infield single. Can that happen? Bases loaded.

Rhodes lines out. 11-1 top of the 9th. We have 15 hits in 37 at bats for .405 BA.

Might have injured their first baseman. He had a tipped infield hit like a bunt that went foul and he was running to first all 6'1" 260 lbs. He then struck out. Probably winded.

We end the game on a double play. Wasn't pretty but we turned it. 11-1 final. It was Norfolk State but it was a nice comfortable win for the Cats.

Great game. Winning can cure a lot of ails. Need this confidence going to Nashville.
