Kentucky vs. Illinois favorites for the Music City Bowl

Illinois I’ve watched them play a few times this season and have a pretty hard nosed tough and physical team.
I was going to say similar. They’ll be favorites I’d guess. SP+ had them as three point favorites prior to championship Saturday. That’s prior to teams players possibly sitting out.

I haven’t watched Illinois all year. Was kinda hoping for the Liberty/Texas because it’s a evening kick and it’s vs B12 who we never get to play.

The damn Vandy loss bites us again, we’d probably be in the Gator.

They are basically a mirror image of us. And we won’t have a QB. It’ll be must see football.

Although not excited about another trip to MCB, this is a good matchup if true. Despite being border states, have only played each other twice, in 1909 and 1913, or merely 109 years ago.

Lot better than playing in Memphis vs. a 6-6 team, and it is an easy drive for both teams.

I will say Illinois will be a lot more interested in the game than UK, especially with a lot of transfer attrition and expected opt outs. Afraid they may take us to the woodshed.

Kentucky doesn't need to act like the Music city bowl would be just a low level bowl game. I have been to 3 of them and it's exciting no matter what team we are playing. Anytime you have a chance to beat a big ten team, that should be enough motivation for players and fans alike. there are a lot of benefits of playing in bowl games like extra practices and money among other thing for players and fans. I remember when Kentucky fans would give their two front teeth to go to any bowl game. I would rather go to Nashville than Memphis any day, it's close and also gives fans in western and central Kentucky a chance to see the cats play.

If Levis doesn’t play, regardless of which bowl we play in, I only hope we don’t go out there with the ultra conservative play not to lose game plan. We all know that is exactly what will happen though which does nothing for development.

This. We're not too far removed from the days of hoping for any bowl. If not a Florida bowl, this is best case scenario

music city bowl is in a good city, good stadium and if you look at participants it has a good history. it just feels like old hat to us because it's where we always ended up with brooks' teams and while it typically runs 5-7 degrees warmer it isn't the warm weather destination bowl. i'm not super excited about it because of the disappointment of the season, but as far as bowls go it could be much worse. i wouldn't go to memphis if we play there. bad stadium, off conference opponent, and the city is meh. i would personally rather go to texas bowl for a new experience but continuing to try to build our brand in middle Tennessee for recruits in that area this is a plus.

Texas bowl is Ole Miss. Florida is Vegas. Arkansas is Liberty. UK must be Music City unless we get Gator over Miss. St.
