I have a couple friends in LA who are already promising revenge for the national annihilation the Cats put on their team in December.

The game makes me a bit nervous because its early in the year, and,as always, the Cats will be young. I remember UCLA was playing better by March, but still feel the Cats will have plenty to handle them. Anyone capable of breaking down that game?

Out of all of our OOC marque games, UCLA probably worries me the least. Not to say it'll be a guaranteed win, but we should have enough fire power along with some strong D to come out on top. Our guards should give them fits on both ends.

pretty sure they lost 2 of their best players in powell and looney. they add 1 recruit of significance who honestly...i have never heard of. at the end of the day...they are bryce alford's team. and that is usually not going to end well.

Agree.

No, we didn't play there last year. Honestly can't remember where it was? I want to say it was neutral site?

We played them in Chicago last year for those who are asking.
Anyway UCLA is terrible and they could perhaps be worse than last year. They lost their two best players from a team that shouldn't have been in the tournament. In all honesty UK should win this game and should go undefeated in December. The only thing that worries me is that it is in LA. Our fans will struggle to get all the way out there but playing at UCLA isn't exactly a place that puts fear into teams in the modern era.

I have friends out west and everything I hear from them and in other reports I've read is that UCLA is expected to be less than last year's team. I know it's early season but we will have some good experience coming back mixed with some outstanding recruits (and Murray is getting great experience against older and more experienced players which should benefit him early in the season) so I think we will be just fine even early in December. Alford's coaching doesn't scare me much either so factor that into the equation and I think we will do well out there. Only thing I see is having fewer than normal UK fans showing up that far away that early in the year and UCLA "fans" showing up more than normal just because UK will be in the gym. I still say we won't let that bother us much either and come away with the win, maybe not anywhere near what last year was like, but, still, a W is a W.

UCLA sells single game tickets for every game other than, well you guessed it. What a scared and greedy bunch of administrators huh? Last I checked, Rupp was 2000 miles from Pauley.

Would not surprise me if UK fans numbered in the thousands anyway.

We'll lay the smack down on them again but honestly they wont be too awful bad. If they had another solid plyer or 2 they'd be a pretty decent, or maybe a good team. Alford, Hamilton, and Parker are good players and Prince Ali an incoming freshman is a really good guard. But yeah they should have tried to land a guy like Rabb who's from Cali. Honestly I want to see UCLA have good teams. As long as they don't win a NC lol.

I live out west so I am hoping to go to the game. I went when they played in Anaheim a while back and we won by 2 points and the UCLA fans were trying to talk crap to my mom and sister - LOL

We owe them for the 1994 Wooden Classic in Anaheim. Gerry Donaghy, father of the gambling NBA ref, personally handed them the win with one of the worst zebra performances ever.

I was at that game :(

I live in San Diego and I'm hoping to go to the UCLA game in Dec. I went to the UCLA website to buy tickets, but you have to buy season tickets to get tickets to that game. It's the only game on their schedule that requires a season ticket bundle to purchase a ticket. Go figure :(

UCLA fans just like the other SEC basketball programs have fans. LOL. You know, you might find a few thousand of them around the area when there's a basketball game not involving UK.
