UK gets one of the largest one week improvements in the polls history. This poll usually reflects well by mid season. UK started out #74. Western Kentucky has moved up to #28. Louisville has dropped from #28 to #52 over the last two weeks. Kentucky, previously an underdog to 9 of its 12 opponents is now only an underdog to Georgia, Missouri, Auburn and Tennessee. Three of those games are at home and the rating difference, other than Georgia, is now not significant.

This is how I predicted the season would go over a month before the season started. However, I still believe we will beat Missouri and have a good shot at both Auburn and Tennessee. My prediction was 9-3 with a good shot at going 10-2.

If South Carolina can rally against a huge favorite Georgia this weekend and we can continue to improve we will have an outside shot at Atlanta - as Georgia will have to defeat Alabama and then Auburn late in the season at Auburn.

This could be the year - how many of you too advantage of the 100 to 1 odds against Kentucky winning the SEC pre-season. Suddenly that bet is starting to like it has a chance.

As I say it all depends on injuries, flags and good bounces - we are still inexperienced and don't have the depth - but we have two important pluses - better talent and good experienced coaching plus most of this team is not used to losing!
