Hage thrown out at 3rd trying to go first to third on a grounder through to short right field. Again, a runner out at third. Louisville gets a two out double but then hits a routine grounder to 2nd for the out. 00 in top of the 2nd.

Ethan Walker is pitching for the Cats. Schlageter pitching for the Cardinals.

Would love to see Schwartz get the midweek starts at C. Pelletier can’t hit at all

Again, in the 2nd Hindle out at third trying to go first to third on a ground ball to short right. Luckily Montoya score from 2nd. We are ending innings on the base paths far too often.

Montoya loses a fly ball at the fence and gives up a triple. Followed by a single to left to seven the score at 1. Still no outs.

Top of the 5th. Montoya on first gets picked off trying to steal by the pitcher. We again take ourselves out of an inning on the base paths.

Brown worked a walk to start the 6th. Bell flies out to short center. Burkes flies out to right field. Brown steals 2nd. Montoya singles him in to tie the game at 2. Montoya steals 2nd. Hindle takes a called 3rd strike to end the half inning,

Top of the 7th with Pelletier up. Should be an easy out for Louisville. Swings at ball 4 and fouls it off. Then gets a double. His first hit against lefties according to the announcer. Cameron gets the bunt down and moves Pelletier. Lawrence and Hage strike out swinging to end the top of the 7th.

To be fair, he only faced lefties 3 times prior to that hit, not exactly a lot of chances there.

We can’t score but we never pinch hit, just run out the same lineup that can’t get anything going. I don’t understand the decisions being made this year. So disappointing

Bottom of the 9th with the score 2-2, Louisville gets a lead off double. Pelletier throws out the runner after an attempted bunt. Nice throw by Pelletier and glove by Bell. Ground out to Bell for the 2nd out. Then a double to right which would have scored the lead off runner. Louisville tries stealing 3rd and Pelletier throws him out. Hmmm I sure wish he could figure out hitting.

Very nice bunt for a single by Cameron to lead off the 10th. The ball went into the dugout so he gets 2nd. Lawrence can't get the bunt down so 0-2 he squares but takes ball one. Then gets the bunt down to move Cameron to 3rd. Their confidence in Lawrence getting the bunt down with 2 strikes is rewarded. Hage singles a 2-2 pitch to left to score Cameron. Well done.

Bottom of the 10th, can we hold the one run lead? Hentschel out for his 2nd inning walks the lead off. Gets a fly out to right from Rose. Louisville gets a single so runners at 1st and 2nd. He jammed him but it bounced in short center field. Mingione brings in Hogan who gives up a single on the first pitch which ties it up. Hogan then gives up another single to give Louisville the 4-3 win. Well that sucks.

We keep doing the same thing and getting the same result. Hogan has been bad all year but we brought him in Sunday and he took the loss and we go back to him again today. Same result

Coaching staff needs to do some self evaluation

Brutal. We’ve been told a lot about how losing coaches has been good for the program and that we are upgrading. It’s pretty clear we are getting worse.

We are falling back to where we were in 2019, quickly.

This team just simply does not have the magic.
Not a real scrappy bunch.
Not potent in any phase.
Seems they find ways to lose, whereas the squad last year found ways to win.
Frustrating to regress so far!
To the point I expect us to close close games.
Pain, just pain.

I'll still tune in though!

Frustrating. 3 guys thrown out on the bases. Not much power. Defense very average. Pitching was good enough to win. Too many strikeouts.

Maybe give some other players a chance? Need offense

This team is driving me insane. Baseball is terrible when it's going like this b/c when it's a football blowout, you can resign yourself to losing and turn it off (same with basketball, to a lesser extent). Baseball sucks you in for four hours as you watch the same mistakes being made every single game. Constantly thrown out at 3rd and at home plate. Routine fly balls dropped. Constantly bunting with our best hitters only to watch the guys behind him strike out.

The team is now in a position where it needs to win the series with Texas or the season might be over. Not good.

I would not be surprised if this team loses the next 7 games.

This team would crush the 2019 team. Not even close. Losing stinks but the program is fine. 8 months removed from a CWS with 29 new players and 3 significant injuries. No, not as good as the last two teams but still waay better than it had been. And with a very strong class signed.

The last five losses in the SEC have come by 7 total runs, two in extra innings. And another extra-inning loss to a Top 12 team on the road. Baseball is cruel. But this team is much better than any of the 2019-2022 squads.

Doesn’t help them if they can’t win.

Not saying it does, but it also shows just how thin the margin of error is in the SEC.

You have to learn how to win. THey are getting a very unfortunate lesson this year. You make the plays you make and don't make the ones you don't but they got (and created) every good bounce they got last season. This season it's not happening. Simple as that.

Auburn loss #1 - LF doesn't position himself correctly and a flare falls in for tying run. Drop a pop up to allow winning run.

Auburn loss #2 - Runner tries to steal home but doesn't go when he told to go like the scouting report said. He's by by 6 inches.

Ole Miss loss #2 - Multiple opportunities. 106 MPH line drive right at SS that if it's two feet in any direction, UK wins.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. But is what is.

Me neither. Anything other than a sweep in Knoxville would be a win, so IMO the series this weekend is a must win if there is much hope left of making the NCAAT.

You're right, the margin is razor thin...which is why all of the horrible fielding mistakes, base running miscues, and coaching mishaps are driving me insane. With two fewer mistakes last weekend, they win at least one of the two games they lost and had a decent chance to sweep.

Last night, if you take away just one of the base running errors, that game might not even go to extras.

Again, I know Ming likes the DNA of our program to be small ball and base running, but he hasn't seemed to adjust to our current personnel.
