Kentucky Basketball: Alex Poythress: Beast Mode

Why do I see his beast mode being 8 and 6 against Zona St.? Sorry but I've given him several years to be consistent.

Kid was in beast mode against UL and Wisky in the run to the championship game 2 years ago so that comment is off. Has he always been consistent ? No but he usually comes to play when it matters . I promise we win the title with his toughness last year. He will never be a lotto pick but he will be a top 35 pick . Which is great in itself.

I think Cal may have abandoned his ill-fated attempt to convert Alex into a "3", and has decided just to leave him alone and let him play the "4" like the beast that he can be. If so, Alex will be fine.

Can't get my hopes up about Poy yet. Been burned too many times. We'll see how it plays out.

"Beast mode" to me for Alex isn't him putting up huge numbers, it's him rebounding strong and playing good defense, and actually dunking the ball and finishing through contact when he gets his scoring opportunities. It's him being that senior, veteran leader that this team needs when the game's on the line.

You are correct...he has about two and a half months to finally deliver what he was expected to on th floor.
He has delivered off The court in spades....in demeanor, academically, socially, etc.

I just want Alex to go strong every time. I want him to succeed the most out of all the players, and i love all of our guys.

Alex went for 8 & 7 vs Wisky and 6 and 4 versus UL. A total of 1 block, 1 steal, and 1 turnover combined.

Your beast mode qualifications has a very low standard.

I love the kid but would be hard pressed to remotely think that an NBA team would spend a 1st round pick on a 22 year old short PF, who cannot dribble, hasnt shot well for 3 years, and coming off an ACL.
