Plaschke already squawking when it was teased before the commercial, "this makes my blood boil." Reali called him out on being from loserville.

Props to Reali for calling him out. Plaschke lost any chance of being viewed as neutral when discussing Kentucky or Louisville when he wrote his piece before the Final Four game in 2012.

You can look it up if you want, but it was awful. The first two lines alone are enough to make you want to throw up in his face:

I am from Louisville. I am not from Kentucky.

He just got worse when the light came on. Bitter much? "The most blatantly professional program in all of college sports..." Gutierrez said good for UK pampering the kids, Cowlishaw and the other short haired guy (Kate Fagan) whined too. "Why pay teams to come there and play, if you can't get your team ready for March madness during the regular drain then what does it matter what they do in August." Seriously? Then Fagan chimed in with this gem; "why are they paying the Dominican national team all that money when there are plenty of Olympic sports programs at Kentucky that would love that special experience ($)."

They alluded that the university spent money on the basketball team instead of other sports. The basketball team is totally self sufficient, not taking any money from the university or other programs. I'd be willing to bet that between football and basketball the entire athletic department is funded from their profits.

This isn't a bad point. I'd watch us play the women's gymnastic team. Be like the show on Fox where the Sumo wrestler did tug of war against the orangutan.

I'm sure three groups of professionals love hearing that the biggest thrill of their professional years was getting to play Kentucky

Just goes to show how little any of them actually knew about this. Two thought it was taking money away from our other programs (incorrect), and at least one other thought we were playing college kids. Good lord.

This, along with the athletic dept actually gives money back to the university. If they want to take a trip that is allowed by the NCAA, and there are no regulations that specify how much money can be spent, then the heck with what any of them think. If the NCAA doesn't like it, then change the rules. Until then, worry about programs that don't obey the rules. It is a shame that the UNC scandal doesn't make his blood boil, but UK spending athletic dept earned money on a NCAA sanctioned trip, does.

I love the reporting on this "story." They say UK spent 775K on the trip. They then allude to the fact later in the story that UK was paid 350K and 20K by boosters paying for their trip and ticket revenues. In my book and in all business models that is 400K spent! I personally think it is something to be proud of! The rich and powerful live more luxuriously than the poor and weak. Nothing at all wrong with that.

Plaschke is the worst sports media guy around. I have never agreed with him about anything. Maybe he's a good writer, but he's terrible on Around The Horn- just a complete moron.

Personally, I love that the most mundane UK stuff is national news. Cracks me up. Get off our stick.

Somebody has to be the bad guy, why not the best program in the country?

I will say this though, what makes Kentucky so bad for paying other teams (actual teams, not the Washington Generals)? Kate Fagan acts like this is so infuriating to her because Kentucky's basketball program rakes in so much money, that it can afford to do stuff like this, but "it isn't fair" or whatever.
Kate Fagan, do you want to know what infuriates me? That ugly a** hair.

Well I think that covers it.

Meanwhile there are UNC Students out of work with no real job prospects looking at an African American Studies diploma on their wall.

Kentucky basketball is big, very big. That's all that needs to be said about the subject.

I honestly wonder what the per day cost of the team being in Kentucky. Ridiculous training facility, trainers, coaching staff, ridiculous dorm amenities, expensive mostly out of state tuition, meals. It can't be cheap.

Meanwhile, UNC spent over $800,000 on a PR firm to get their asses out of the fire. And then who knows how much they have/will spend on attorneys moving forward. Yet this makes no one on ESPN's blood boil...

I for one am very happy Plaschke said he is from Louisville, and not from Kentucky !! Because just like them he sucks ! He is the worst person they have had on that show since J what's his name left !
