Don't forget that tonight is the first game of the series. Last series of the year is always played Thursday through Saturday rather than starting Friday. Huge series for the hopes of UK getting into the NCAA tournament. As it stands right now UK is 8th in the SEC. Auburn and South Carolina are just a tiny bit behind us because we missed the TAMU game earlier this year. Alabama is one game behind at 11-16. Missouri and Ole Miss are two games ahead with 14 wins each. UK needs an excellent weekend with at least 2 wins to keep hope alive.
 
Could someone please explain to me why Andrew Nelson is starting tonight?

Ok, scratch that. Brown is starting.

Kentucky shuts out Mizzou ???? Final Cats 1 Tigers 0, according to SEC scoreboard we out hit them 8-4, and pulled off the shutout !
 
A CG SO by the Zac Brown Band tonight. Out Effin standing. He has definitely been UK's MVP this year!
 
Does anyone have any details, Mizzou and UK's gametracker are both screwed up, showing a Mizzou vs SEMO score.
 
Cats scored in the 5th and won 1-0. Apparently, there was a spectacular play from a Missouri player taking away a Kentucky home run (read that off of the UM twitter page). Big win for the Big Blue!!!

Every year more or less we come down to end of season games and hope other SEC teams help us get in SEC tourney.......I wish the boys the best......:)
 
We're definitely in the SEC tourney, but now jockeying for seeding position and for the NCAA invite. We need to be rooting for:

UF (to stay ahead of auburn)
LSU (so that we stay ahead of USCe)
Vandy (so that we stay ahead of Bama)
A&M (so that we stay ahead of Ole Piss)
 
What is UK's current RPI? Last I heard it was in the mid 50's. Is that going to be good enough to make the NCAAT unless UK goes on a run in the SECT?

Agree, a win tonight would have helped the cause greatly. Cats had 2 on with the tying run at the plate, when White flied out to center.
 
Well updated standings should be

Mizzou - 15-14 (uncatchable)
Miss: 14-14 (Game postponed)
UK: 13-15
AU - 13-16
USC - 13-16

That puts at 8th with 1 game left. If we lose tomorrow and AU and USC win then we drop to 10th. UK is 56th in the RPI, as of May 14th. Auburn is 20th and USC is 49th. We might finish 8th, but our RPI is 10th. That's not good for us.
 
Cody is dealing today. UK had a leadoff single by Barrett in the 4th, but dumb baserunning cost UK a double play. Going to bottom of 4th now.
 
Gong to the bottom of the 5th with the same score. Cody pitching pretty well and this game is moving pretty quickly.

Ehh... that was supposed to be a hit and run that just didn't pan out. UK taking a risk with a decent lead.
 
Cody giving up a couple singles to start the bottom of the 5th. Henderson making a mound visit with 0 outs. This is a dangerous spot. Really need to get out of this without any problems.
 
Cody got a strikeout and then gave up a single that loaded the bases for the Tigers. Cody then manufactured a beautiful 6-4-3 double play to end the inning and keep Mizzou off the boards.
 
Same score going into the top of the 7th. Hope Henderson doesn't mess this us.
 
What in the hell... UK had the bases loaded with two outs. Barrett tries to steal home and gets thrown out...?
 
Classic Hendo oddball call there. Ugh, hope they don't need insurance runs. Heading to 8th, Cody still dealing.
 
Tennessee squeaks into the SEC tournament. Extremely disappointing season for the Volunteers. They were preseason top 25 and finished 12th in the SEC... barely.
 
Henderson takes out Kyle Cody to start the bottom of the 8th inning. Not overly sure I like that idea, but Strecker does have out number 1 already.
 
I think he was at 106 pitches. Not sure he's really able to go much beyond that.

Probably not, but the kid had a shutout working. I'd at least let him work until he gives up a hit to start the inning or something like that. Mizzou threatening a bit again. 2 outs with runners at first and third. Nothing really bad that Strecker has done. Just some 2 out luck for the Tigers.
 
Strecker gives up another single and Mizzou scores to cut into the lead. 4-1 with 2 outs and Logan Salow coming into the game to matchup with one of the best hitters for Missouri.
 
Trouble in the 8th. Mizzou with a two-out single to plate 1. Runners on the corners now and a pitching change. Our bullpen drives me nuts.

Hence why I wanted Cody to stay in the game. Can't trust the bullpen. Might as well try to let Cody continue to deal.
 
Salow gives up another single and cuts the lead in half 4-2. Runners still on the corners. This is killing me.
 
Salow gets behind 3-0 and then gets count to 3-2 before giving up an RBI single. Aren't relievers supposed to throw strikes?
 
Henderson now going to the bullpen once again to try to get another matchup. I think he is going to Bo Wilson for the second time this weekend.
 
What's up with Wilson? Did he get injured this year or is this just another example of Henderson misusing a player? This is just his 10th appearance, and he has only pitched 8.2 innings.
