Injured his foot in practice yesterday. Could be out the rest of the year. You just can't make this stuff up, man. The life of a Georgia basketball fan...

Re: Kenny Gaines

Damn. that sucks. Hope it's a sprain and he makes it back soon.

Re: Kenny Gaines

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully it's nothing major and he can lace up again in the tournaments.

Re: Kenny Gaines

I hate to hear that. I was very impressed with Georgia the other night and want them to do well in the tournament. Very well. I hope this is not serious.

Re: Kenny Gaines

Man that's terrible.......especially this late in the year. I really thought yall would cause some matchup problems to,some teams in the tourney and get a good win or two

Re: Kenny Gaines

Well they are done if he is done. Only way they get in is make the final game of the tourney. They gotta show they can win without him is how its usually looked at.

Re: Kenny Gaines

Tough break for sure, hope he recover's soon, never like to see any kid injured no matter who they play for. May be a built in excuse when Auburn waxes the dogs, which I hope doesn't happen, by the way, but I've seen it too many times in the past to believe otherwise. Next game after KY. lay an egg.

Re: Kenny Gaines

That sucks as Georgia has to win at Auburn or they are NIT bound.

And if Gaines is out for the season, the selection committee will take that into consideration.

Damn, the SEC could go from 6 bids to 3 within a week's time. LSU is not lock after their debacle against Tennessee at home and neither is Texas A&M.

Re: Kenny Gaines

GTD

Man sorry to hear that , was hoping to see them get in the NCAA an dmake some noise !

Re: Kenny Gaines

That sucks man. I root for SEC schools in the tourney. Just how I am. Hate to see Georgia go in short handed. Good luck to your guys.

Re: Kenny Gaines

Injuries have killed Georgia this year I hope he is able to return

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Coach Fox said Kenny is day to day and will travel to Auburn. It was a slight sprain. Juwan Parker will probably fill those voided minutes if Kenny can't go tomorrow. Juwan is coming off of an injury of his own. This season has been pretty piecemeal for us. Really need to pick up this win at Auburn tomorrow, but we typically lose in pairs and Auburn has had our number of late. Halfway expecting a loss.

Georgia is already in the tourney no matter what happens from here on out

Beat Auburn, get ready for the SEC tournament, then represent the State of Georgia and SEC with honor in the NCAA. That means wins some games and advance.

Go Dawgs

DIsagree, a loss @ Auburn and a quick exit from the SEC-T could put Georgia squarely on the bubble.

Their resume of bad losses would include being swept by South Carolina and Auburn, 4 really bad losses and a 19-12 record.

I don't think it happens, but they are not a lock, particularly if bitten by the injury bug.

Sorry to hear about Gaines, but seriously, if you guys can't beat Auburn even without Gaines you have to question your presence in the tournament (NCAA). Not a negative post, just reality. I hope the best for GA and all the SEC teams.

Trust me, I'm in 100% agreement with you.

Gdawg.....hope he can go by next weekend. I want all the sec teams in the tourney that can. I seriously think georgia, Lsu, and Arkansas can pull a couple upsets between them. I would love nothing more than you guys to knock off one or more ther teams from ACC or big ten. I would love to have four teams in sweet 16. The sec has been ridiculed for a few years now.

On a side note ignore some of the posters that give you a hard time. We know, you are a good poster and very complimentary of our team and coach.

The word snakebit comes to mind. Been a tough year for you guys, and they've been all over the place. Getting hit by a car? I live down the street from a major college campus, and I understand college kids will walk right out in front of moving cars while playing with their smart phones, and ear buds in, but jeez

That's good to hear. Georgia had to beat either Kentucky or Auburn. They didn't have to beat Kentucky, but now they MUST beat Auburn; this is the zero round of the NCAA tournament. Georgia could grab that third spot with a win, since they hold the tiebreaker on A&M and Ole Miss (they are 3-0 against those teams; I expect LSU to lose @ Arkansas). If LSU wins and there is a four-way tie at 11-7, I think Georgia is 3-1 vs. those other teams; LSU is 2-2; A&M is 2-2, and Ole Miss is 1-3. That means, Georgia is third; A&M is fourth; LSU is fifth, and Ole Miss is sixth. Yikes. Georgia is guaranteed no worse than a 6-seed in the tournament.

Hope things improve quickly... need you guys to do well and boost the SEC in the big tournament!

Sounding a bit better than at the top of the thread. If he is day to day and it's a slight sprain then he should be good to go for the NCAA and possibly the SEC, depending on how far you can go into it. Now, go take care of Auburn and get back on track. I was at Georgia the other night and was very impressed with your team. Add me to those who will be pulling for you to win games in the NCAA.

Karma for shouldering Andrew?
No place for that garbage on the basketball court.
Keep the football plays to football Jawja.

I was disappointed in Kenny for that play. I think he's better than that. You're right.
