I can't remember him ever playing poorly and he always seems to deliver.
Seems like he is a step quicker than any other options as well.
Not sure why he goes stretches where he does not see the field.

Two things about Kemp - he may not be the fastest, strongest or most illusive back but (1) he's really good at picking up the blitz and (2) he has great vision and always runs to the right spot and times his blocks ahead of where he's going.

In a game like this Kemp = Money.

I actually see his quickness and illusiveness as a strength.
They rave about Boom's speed, but in traffic, I have always liked Jojo.

JoJo may not have the body or skills that other backs do, but he's a damn good football player. Glad we have him on our team.

Every time he is on the field I feel he is our best all around back. All of our backs however, have a chance to look good being fresh and getting carries that most suit them. They all benefit from each other.

Kemp is our closer. Dude doesn't fumble and always seems to get the extra yard or two that we really need. He's definitely under-appreciated.

JoJo play much bigger than he really is. He isn't scared to go between the tackles and always finds a way to gain a extra yard or two. Definitely under appreciated.

Just hard nosed. Won't out run anyone or truck many but will fight for every yard. He also hits the hole almost perfectly. Close game means give it to JoJo.

I have the same questions, OP. I think the kid can just find the right gaps and zip through it faster than anyone. They worked him out at S. Carolina, and then it seems like he didn't see much time after that.

Love the kid, a lot of people thought he would transfer after not many carries to end last season

It's a tough situation but a good problem to have. We have 3 solid backs.

Boom is our explosive, big play threat. JoJo is the best blocker and runs downhill. Then you have Horton, who is our bruiser that just pounds it straight ahead like when we were pinned inside the 5.

Id personally like to see Horton get some more carries. I'm a fan of big backs with good speed. The type of rb that Bama and LSU always have and Adrian Peterson.

Jo Jo is my favorite player. It was Stoops who said he was one of the toughest guys he has ever seen when he first came to Kentucky. IMO, the coaches have always underutilized Jo Jo. Stoops said it's hard to fight your way into the rotation. Jo Jo may have had more carries last night than any game beforehand. I haven't looked at the stats yet.

I think Kemp earned some extra carries last night. He has good vision along with some quickness.

If this entire team could adopt the heart and desire of JoJo, we would win every game. That being said, I am not implying we dont play hard but JoJo plays the game the right way. He waits on the sidelines til his name is called, then he goes in the game and delivers. We have a great group of running backs, Boom, Mikel, JoJo, Silem, and the best thing about them is we can utlilize each one of them in any given situation. Boom missed that block and showed very little effort to get there. That earned him some time on the sideline, no big deal. They will all play. Love to see JoJo get 10 carries a game, seems like we control the game when he runs well.

Seems like the staff has been using boom mainly in the first half with Horton and then boom mainly in the second with Horton and boom also getting snaps.

JoJo is my favorite player on the team. I think he's the best overall back on the team and I also believe he's the best between the tackle runner we have. Boom gets to to the outside easier and is more elusive but Jojo has more success between the tackles than anyone else.

I don't know why Horton is second on the depth chart. Jojo should be IMO. I also don't think Horton is very good at running laterally nor is he as patient and good at setting up his blocks as Jojo.

Kemp sacrifices his body and is really fearless. I can't believe he hasn't gotten injured more because the guy lays his body on the line every run. He's one of my favorite players.

Exactly. He isnt the most gifted, but he runs the hardest and lays it all out every game. Like when he went airborn for a few extra yards. A huge piece of this team.

Last year, he almost single-handedly won us the SC game, then disappeared for the rest of the year. When he did go in, it was in the Wildcat formation, and EVERYBODY had scoped that one out and prepared for it. I'm not sure he was used in the backfield at all in the last half of the season. The only answer I could get was that he didn't produce in practices, thus was given reduced minutes. And I'm thinking, can't we find some other way to discipline a kid? Don't I remember losing 6 games in a row and needing him?

Steady player...reminds me of Mo Williams.....
Kemp is our best all around back IMO, but reminding you of Mo Williams? A little strong don't you think? Mo would be a potential heisman candidate on this team.

His body type reminds me a lot of Mo Wms....wiry and good at breaking tackles...
