Keldon Johnson has scored 60 points combined in his last two games, including...

One thing time has taught me is that our 2019 team was way more talented than I thought at the time. Keldon Johnson, Tyler Herro, P.J. Washington, Immanuel Quickley and Nick Richards have all been way better pros than I thought they’d be.

Which makes it sting a little bit more when I realize that they went down to a 5 seed Auburn team who’d lost its best player to injury only two days before.

And the year before, we got beat by a team that also lost its best player to an injury. That roster had future multi-year NBA guys like SGA, PJ Washington, Kevin Knox, Nick Richards, Hamidou Diallo, and Wenyen Gabriel.

Calipari has had a recent knack for taking mental naps on the sidelines in games where we're clearly more talented.

Auburn had really caught fire (at least before the injury). They destroyed Tennessee in the SECT finals; snuck past their 1st round NCAAT opponent, and then just thumped Kansas and UNC. Probably won have won it all if they had not choked in the last seconds versus Virginia.

Still hard to uderstand; we had beaten Auburn by 27 the month before without Travis IIRC.

One stop is all we needed with a minute left.. hurts.

Same for Wisconsin in 2015, UConn in 2011, Kansas State in 2018, UNC in 2017, and St. Peter's in 2022.

Cal has been one of the worst closers.
It’s just crazy because many of those teams had close games at some point in the season where they grabbed a rebound or held on some way.

Incredible that Quickley is the worst of that bunch in the league at this point.

I went to the Spurs-Sixers game last week. Had to tell a bunch of people sitting near me who Keldon is. He had 21 points and 8 rebounds. Looked effortless doing it too. The Spurs embarrassed the Sixers and had fans booing.

It’s a team without real superstars but is fun to watch. The biggest surprise in the NBA so far. Just a terrific spot for Keldon and he has really taken advantage.
