keep Uconn away from us

Meh.....whatever.

Give me UCONN all day in the tourney. We need to pay them back multiple times for their flopping BS that won them that title in 2011. Plus their few fans are the most classless pieces of crap around.

They beat ohio state like they were kennesaw state
So....

Score comparison is such a good way to know one team will beat another [eyeroll]

I guess keep LA Tech & UT Arlington away from us too. Don't want to see either of those teams in the first round.

They are good...it is ok to acknowledge other teams are good...i dont want Xavier in our bracket either...dont try to tell me they cant play

I've always hated to see Marquette in our bracket and I've added UConn to that list as well.

Add Michigan state to that list as well. They could have a team of 6 walk on white dudes and still beat us. I also want zero to do with witcha state they are dying to beat us. Rest assured we see them in the tournament

Xavier is good but a UK fan not wanting them? X and Gonzaga are the exact same program, when they are good its all you hear about it but the never make the next big boy step. We match up fine with Uconn.

I want payback. We almost got it in 2012 but Iowa State beat them, remember?

The transitive property actually works for us, since with UConn it goes backwards. Louisville beat them three times, once by 40. We beat Louisville twice. UConn beat us.

While there is an obvious recent history of UCONN beating UK when it mattered a great deal, I try not to have the mentality of not wanting to play a certain team simply because the players I cheer for can't have that mentality either. I can't imagine Ulis or Briscoe worried about a challenge from good guards in the country. This kind of defeatist attitude will never equate to a champions mentality. Cheer on and enjoy the challenges that come...kind of like life.

Well, I wouldn't want any part of a lot of teams right now and UConn, X and Michigan State lead that list. I will have to reevaluate that in March when our team comes around. We just have bad luck when we play those teams and I like what was said earlier in this thread, if I was shifting up and could do something about the outcome it would be different but I'm just a fan that only has control of the remote and how much bourbon goes into my glass.

We aren't the competitors. We are the fans. If I'm playing, sure I'm not afraid to compete against the best. When I'm cheering, I want the most assured path to a chip possible.

Ok, so its just an anxiety thing.

UConn scares me regardless of what each team has. UK would've blasted them in 2012 but they got thumped by Iowa State in the first round.

Xavier has a showdown with some wildcats tomorrow at high noon. Villanova at their place.

I have no faith in Nova. They feast on mediocre teams all year and lose to anyone decent they play. This is one of those games. BTW, how freakin' long has Ryan Arcidiacono been there? Seems like 10 years now.

So we want no part of an unranked team that just beat a crappy Texas team. Uhhhh, ok ??
Uhhh I was saying that Texas wasn't at a disadvantage because they were without Ridley because uconn was without their starting center Brimah as well uhhh uhhh nothing else uhhh

Also, talent wise uconn is a top 10 team easily and maybe higher and Ollie is a good coach. I'd rather not play them in March unless it's in the final four which would likely be the case. They could beat any team in the country with a healthy Brimah. I had them in the final four preseason.

Maybe. When I'm playing, I have some control over the results. When I'm watching, it's wholly out of my hands.

I don't adopt the whole "take on all comers" attitude when I'm not actually taking them on. I want to win.

This, word for word.

"Shabazz Napier ain't walking through that door, folks. Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb aren't walking through that door. And if they do walk through that door, they are gonna be gray and old."

Your original reply did nothing but strengthen an argument that UCONN is scary, which I disagree with.
You could disagree with it but Uconn actually looks really good. They're very athletic. I would just rather avoid them with this years team. They just seem to have our number. I'm sure Utah fans never want to see UK ever again too for the same reason.

They have other really good players that are currently walking through the door.

Oh yes. The whole if team D beats your team (team A) but team B beat team D, then surely team B can beat team A by 20 argument.

If only UK had a bunch of freshmen who will only get better as the season progresses. Oh wait. They do.

I don't think they're scary, but they have a lot of weapons. We dont have anyone like Brimah in the paint, Daniel Hamilton is a helluva player and a true shooting forward, they could both be matchup nightmares for us. They have juniors and seniors who played a lot of minutes against us in the title game that come off the bench now. Two of the best graduate transfers in shon miller and sterling gibbs. Why do you think they'd be an easy out?

And their current roster is completely irrelevant to what happened before. So is Kentucky's. Two teams that will be playing well by March. If UK plays them, so be it.
