After the lottery last night nearly everything I have seen, heard, read, etc...says KAT should be the #1 pick. No surprise, but people absolutely love him.

I would love to see him taken #1, just feel kinda bad it would be to Minnesota.

Towns is the better all around player, but I don't think you can go wrong with Okafor either. Minny and LA should be feeling very blessed this morning.

I sent my buddy a tweet last night who is a Duke fan and LA Laker fan, and I said so do you want Okafor to go 1 or drop to your Lakers at 2. He said I would be okay with Okafor, but I want Towns. He is an honest b-ball fan, so he thinks Towns would help his Lakers more than Okafor. Looking at Towns instagram picture from yesterday, Minnesota and LA fans are both all over it fighting for him...eventhough he has no say in it.

I think there is a shot he goes to the Lakers...Ford has said Timberwolves are one of few teams that might prefer Okafor.

Both LA and Minny won big last night as both will get an all-star caliber center...Knicks are the ones who are effed.

I hate the Lakers, but I would like to see Towns in a big market. I don't want him to get the Boogie treatment where his talent is somewhat hidden in a small market like Minnesota and Sacramento. I wouldn't mind seeing him team up with Randle in LA, too. Once Kobe hangs em up, they could turn the franchise over to KAT.

Kid improved as much as any freshman we've ever had over the course of the season.

Knicks probably end up with Russell, but is he any better than Winslow? Or Oubre? Or one of the foreign guys?

This is a tricky draft outside of the top 2, because there is depth of talent, but little separation when you look at it with a fine tooth comb. How good of a pro will Stanley Johnson be in 5 years? What about Trey Lyles?

This is lining up as one of those drafts where 5 years from now, a few fan bases will be crying, "I can't believe we passed on him!" But who is him?

Exactly, after the first 2 it's a crap shoot...they could all be good, but a bet 1 or 2 will end up being elite and it's impossible to say which ones.

This year there is real value in middle to bottom of draft..I really think whoever gets Lyles and Booker will be very happy with their pick; both could easily be top 5-10 in other years.

I think people are sleeping on Mudiay. That dude was unreal last year in the all-star games, and then he goes overseas and falls off the map. He will be the steal if he drops to bottom 10.

Is Russell any better than Oubre? Did you really just ask that?

Nobody is sleeping on Mudiay. He's a lock Top 5 pick.

Who really knows though? If he dropped completely off the map whose fault is it? May be a reason....may not.

Yeah, and the weird thing is there was nothing gradual about it - seemed like it happened literally in the course of about 2 weeks, a mere handful of games.

I said early in the year that although this might be Cal's most talented team top to bottom, if you took the best player on each of his 6 teams and ranked them, whomever you picked from the 2015 team might be last. By the end of the year, that was certainly not true.....

I just want WCS to end up on Boogie's team. Talk about a nasty front court.
I think I'd prefer for Towns to go to the Lakers, for the sake of having a better career.

Russell is better today. Oubre has the tools to be great down the road. There are a bunch of guys like that in this draft. Hard to predict.

WCS and Boogie would be quite the combination. I could see them being best friends or hating each other. Both are unique guys...would be fun to watch!

It's actually quite important that he's taken before Okafor.

He would provide Cal the ammunition to boast about having "guided" #1 picks in Rose, Wall, Davis, and Towns. That's deeply significant on the recruiting trail.

Plus, it would keep K's ego from being stroked any more than it already is.

There's some truth to that, but there's also value in being able to say, "Check out my guys, KAT and JR...starting front court for the Lakers. You can see them on TV twice a week."

I think bringing WCS helps them both in a number of ways. WCS helped Towns very, very much defensively. Taught him how to cut a few corners to help make him into the defensive player that he is. Boogie has the size and athleticism to be a very good defender as well.
I think Boogie could also teach WCS a few things offensively. Not so much about being a wrecking ball down low, but how a big man like him could draw his man out, and drive the ball to the basket for an easy lay-up, as well as a few post moves that may suit WCS.
I think it would be terrific for both of them. All of that, plus the obvious benefits that come from having WCS right away. If his offense comes around, he definitely has star potential. You all really don't know how happy it made me to see him hitting jumpers last year, and showing some semblance of post-moves. He's come a long way.

They're the same age and Russell isn't just better, he's a ton better. It isn't even close. You have no basis for the comparison. Russell is better right now and he has a bigger upside.

Anyone praising Towns is forgetting about his slow walk. It'll drop him into the second round, DONE DEAL.

As a Laker fan, I would love to see them get Towns, not as much because he is a Cat, but moreso because I think he's the best player.
That said, I will be more than happy with either him or Okafor. Its a win either way.
Last night was a good night for the Lakers & fans.

Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY thought Oubre was better before they got to college. Russell was handed the ball from day one, while Oubre was brought along much more slowly.

Who's to say what their prospects would look like if the roles had been reversed?

You must have quite the crystal ball to know for sure which one will be the better player at age 25. Which is all I was saying. There is a lot of raw talent in this draft, and a couple of guys are likely to become stars. Oubre may or may not be one of those guys.
