Kash Daniel having himself a game

Thanks for the reports. Sounds like he came out of nowhere and is continuing to improve, if he keeps this up he should get his fourth star for sure.

Well, maybe not, I'm not sure what they expect with their ratings any more.

And the ratings won't make him a better player, but I do think it helps with the perception of our program with recruits.

Glad to see he's doing well. I watched former commit Quinton Baker in Ashland tonight. He looks a lot bigger than last year and is FAST. The 100 meter state champ pulled away from defensive backs like they were nothing.

Thought I saw FM there tonight. My buddie and made the trek over from Lou. KASH WAS impressive and we also saw Landon Young...he is a big boy

Some people are just born to a certain role. Kash Daniel was born to be an SEC middle linebacker. This kid is coming along at the right time.

I bet this kid turns out pretty good. Sounds like he could turn into one of those little bowling ball running backs like LSU and Mississippi state had last year. No judgement on our choices. I know that Stoops knows what he's doing.

How can anyone assess a D1 college football player when competing against Frankfort HS in Ky Class A? Kash is going to be an great player at UK, but there is no way to judge his future SEC performance based on playing at this level. There is not a single player on the Frankfort roster who has a D1 scholarship offer. Any exceptional athlete at 250 lbs like Kash will overwhelm a small school like Frankfort.

I agree with that to a certain extent but you have to look at the fact that he is absolutely dominating. Be different if he had 11 tackles in the game but he had that many in the first half.

Yes it sure does not discount his huge upside, just not a fair assessment. This is not his fault, but so often small rural HS football cannot provide adequate competition. We saw this in Jefferson County, where despite being inside a relatively large urban community .....small HS like Atherton had to stop playing Male, Manual, St X and others who were totally outclassing the Rebels in every category.

Sometimes great SEC players come from small high schools where they dominated the competition. If he chose UL, this poster would be adding his praise to a similar thread on a UL site under his/her UL screen name.

Caveman, you missed the point of my responses in your effort to try and turn this into an attack on a UL fan. I do not think that I could be more complimentary of Kash regardless of his school selection. My observations are confined to what I witness in KY HS football, and how disadvantageous it is for bigger and more atheletic kids in small rural community HS who cannot be challenged.

Kash has been to camps where kids his size and talent level compete and he has demonstrated his worthiness of accolades ......these HS games are simply not viable tests. I will return back to my UL home and you can return back into the cave from which you came.

Since Kash has proven his value at the high level camps against the best competition in the country then why would you be trying to gauge his talent any further ?

You couldn't be more wrong. I'm not going to sit here and say that Frankfort High is even remotely close to SEC football but Frankfort High School has produced several D1 athletes in past years and they have one currently on the roster...http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Anthony-Robinson-183451\\

EDIT:
Oh yeah...UofL has a Frankfort High School athlete on their team as well.http://www.gocards.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/jalen_washington_971165.html

And if they dominate they dominate... any D-1 kid in any hs will dominate if they are a true D-1 kid... Just like Quinton did friday ... At one point he had 3 carries for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns... And if you look at the rest of the D-1 kids stats at any high school in the country they are exaggerated because they dominate ..

I get what you are saying but you can tell special talent no matter who they are playing. My kid just got a field hockey head coach job in St Louis, and I watched her last game. Two average teams, nothing special. But there was a girl on the other team who was clearly head and shoulders above the other players, and I figured that out 50 seconds into a 70 minute game. I Google her name and sure enough she is a junior Olympian, one of 130 in the country, playing for a tiny K-12 school of only 400 kids.

Talent stands out, no matter what.

Baker is a really good RB. UK made the offer and he accepted. Then, he walked away. I wish him well. I also wish he had stayed tight with his commitment. But, he did not.

Things like technique, speed, agility, football IQ, etc. can all be judged regardless of competition level.

And Baker is not a bowling ball by any stretch. He's similar in size to Boom

I'm sure a UK fan invading a UL board to trash a UL recruit would be welcome with open arms, right? Transparently pathetic attempt to downgrade a recruit who told UL to GTFO, ain't no other reason for the troll to be here.

All of this is true.

I mean, you're a UofL fan on the UK board telling UK fans to dampen their enthusiasm about a big time recruit because he's just an "out in the state" kid. Surely you aren't surprised that it's rubbing people here the wrong way?

If your only contribution to the thread is "can't tell anything from playing a small school," you're going to get blowback. There are plenty of UofL fans on their board who would love to hear about how all these "small school" kids are overrated and then flounder at UK.

I believe Kash is going to be a outstanding player at Kentucky.
That happens when talent and preparation meet opportunity. He certainly has the talent, and he is coming along at a time of great opportunity for a middle linebacker at Kentucky. If he stays healthy and works hard, I believe he will become an outstanding SEC player.

I have to believe that Kash played a role in the Dorian Hendrix departure. Very exciting stuff is in store for UK in the next few years!!!

After watching his highlights, I can see him making some big plays on special teams with his passing and running skills.

The old Statue of Liberty play? I thought they got rid of the forward pass for KORs. If he uses his passing skills on STs, he better learn how to punt!!!
