^^^^ I almost started a thread on this game but you beat me to it. I was flipping channels and came across this game when it was 17-7. Still watching it (sort of); it's kind of like watching a car wreck.

They fired Mangino after some players alleged abuse, IIRC. He had the program going in the right direction and it appears to be worse than what Joker left us with.

I don't know who this guy is. They had Charlie Weiss, Turner Gill and now someone I never heard of. In any case, they're terrible.

Hard to believe that 8 years ago they finished 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl. They may be on the verge of an historically bad season.

They are the prime example of a basketball only school. At least UK is trying to get their football up however UK is primarily a basketball school. I think in the next couple years UK will have one of the better football/ basketball combos in the country. The basketball is already there and the football is rising.

It's a close call between who was worse. I don't know the particular circumstances under which Mangino was fired but I believe it was similar to the situation at Texas Tech when Leach was run off. Bet they wish Mangino was back now. Weiss has proven to be a terrible head coach and Gill was not a good fit.

Weiss was just taking jobs and taking money to the bank. Terrible coach. Pretty sure he was getting money from Notre Dame and getting overpaid by Kansas the whole time he was at KU. Gill came from Buffalo after a couple of great MAC seasons to Kansas?! I think Gill was/is a good coach, but saw the $$ and the chance to get out of the upper New York so he walked into a bad situation. He also must have taken the job site unseen because Kansas is basically a thawed out Buffalo.....

Weiss was just terrible. Gill was just stupid. That's how I see it.

Saw a video of KU coeds trying to answer questions about their football team. The apathy toward football was kind of sad. They couldn't name the coach or a single player on the team. Football teams only get better when the people associated with the school demand that things get better.
