You would think that being at #2 on the All Time Winningest team list, they would conduct themselves like a true blue blood program. But, it appears they have ventured down the "manufactured success" road paved by Tom Crean with the Sweet 16 rings, popcorn boxes, phone books shenanigans. Newsflash Kansas fans, recruiting victories do not translate to real time success on the court. Come back down to earth and face reality. First weekend losses in the NCAAT are the norm for Kansas these days, not the exception. 22>6, 8>3, 72-40. Any questions?
 
They have been at IU's level for a while when it comes to bitterness, though they are having trouble with the "Cal cheats and pays recruits" theme with KU going 3-0 with co-recruits this year.
 
Just my opinion, but I see zero similarities between the fan bases or programs, for that matter. While understanding this is a message board for opinions, etc., they (Kansas) have brought in a few recruits that we have have wanted the past year or two. How have we done without bringing those recruits in?

Give them credit for successful recruiting and move on.
 
I don't see why we should have to give them credit for their recruiting success when they can only say we're cheating for our recruiting success. I say we should take the gloves off and give it right back. I'm embarrassed for the way their fans conduct themselves when it comes to UK. They act towards us the way Missouri fans act towards them.

Oh, Kansas fans are definitely right there with IU fans. Their inferiority complex toward Kentucky is hilarious.

I don't care how many recruits they get. They can't get rid of the Choke DNA running through their veins.

If they are on an inferior level to us, why get down there "with" them in the gutter?
Report back to us on this board what good you have done, please.

We won't be hanging any banners in Rupp that state that we got the last word in on a message board.

We've beaten the crap out of them is "how we have done without bringing those recruits in?"!!!

Kansas signed kids that were not a top priority for Cal. Some were also easily influenced by the negativity spewed about UK to lure them to Lawrence.

And that's not what I'm saying at all. I don't post on Kansas boards and have no desire to do such a thing, but I have read the ridiculous venom they spew, and it's not something you would expect to hear from a supposed too 3 program in the game. I'm not going to go troll their message board because of it, but this is sports. We don't have to be the bigger man here; we should be the bully instead. I see no benefit in giving them credit for anything until I see the same from them. That's my stance and most others' here as well, I'm betting. I don't want them actually thinking they are close to our level.
 
Op, do you have any specific examples? They've done nothing that I've noticed out of the ordinary that isn't done here when we land a top recruit or any other school that doesn't have a clap happy coach. Phog is the same as it is here, lot of smart fans, couple delusional fans.

Not saying you're wrong but I've seen nothing that would warrant a comparison to that cesspool of clapping and kicking kids off.

I seriously doubt that we are ever going to get any of their fans to admit they are wrong in "thinking they are close to our level." So, the attempt to get them to will never end because it will never happen.

We know that they aren't, and to me, that's all that matters.

I enjoy what we have here, and ignore what others gloat about. Maybe that's arrogant, but I could care less what others think of their (or our) programs.

We are the standard of college basketball. All of the jealousy from others means nothing.

And in general, I agree with that practice. I don't bother with trolls that spew nonsense because it's a waste of time, but the Kansas fans seem to actually believe the nonsense they say. So maybe you're right, it's a waste of time to even speak of such a topic, but this is a message board and part of that is being able to boast about your team's status. I realize that's just what they're doing, but we shouldn't have to give them credit for it. For the record, I don't believe they are close to IU fans' level yet. They do have a huge inferiority complex though.

But seriously, I'm as calm as anyone. I just don't like Kansas fans' practices when it comes to UK. So I'm not going to give them credit. If you want to kiss their feet, go right ahead.
 
Well, both fanbases do have a couple extra weeks before us each March to bitch and complain.
 
They are like Indiana fans in one respect. I've not read anything posted by a Kansas fan that seems to merit serious consideration. I can give you two analogies. A Kansas fan trash talking is similar to a chihauhau barking under a beware of dog sign. Its also similar to a 5 year old child screaming his daddy can beat up your daddy.

Listening to a trash talking fan from any of these schools is rather like downing a six pack and relieving yourself into a stiff head wind. You are just going to feel stupid and need a shower afterwards.

Just let the teams settle it on the court.
 
I really hope that some of our fans who are brave enough to venture into the wasteland known as Lawrence Kansas next January, get some really good photos of those Helms banners and post them far and wide. In my book, those are no better than the "Sweet 16" banner that Crean, IU, et al hung in Ass Hall. They should be publicly humiliated for such nonsense.
