Tubby's done a great job this year, but I don't think he's ready for that jelly.

Tubby is good coach and has made Texas Tech respectable. But better? That is a step or two past where the majority of posters even on Rupp would take.
Good call. I wouldn't give Tubby any credit for losing by 10 at home at UK so I'm not gonna give him any for losing at home by 10 tonight. Wins are wins, losses are losses. Tech has to have more wins than losses in the Big 12 to feel good about the NCAA Tourney.
Considering that Kansas is going to beat us like a mouthy prostitute in Minardi Hall might as well have them at #1 when they do it.

What is up with Diallo? You would think Self would be giving him some minutes but he's rolling with Traylor and Lucas.
True enough but I think we're talking Powerball odds on this one, they're just better than us this year, don't see us improving that much in 3 weeks.
Diallo is the anti-Skal. Diallo has the athleticism and drive and limited basketball skills. Skal has all the basketball skills but none of the drive and athleticism. We're both victims of high expectations because of their rankings without consideration that this freshman class is overall pretty weak.
He's starting to play smarter but he's definitely the last big in the rotation at the moment and that's not because of Self. It's clear just from watching the games that Diallo is behind everyone else. He just doesn't understand defensive rotation and blocking out and offensively he lacks post moves and just looks lost at times. He has an impact at times because of his quickness, athleticism, and energy but when the games get broken down and become more system oriented he struggles.
He'll be fine but I just don't see the major minutes coming this year. Will be interesting to see if he makes the jump when he's clearly not ready or if he comes back.
Don't write us off daddyo. Every year has it's "surprise". Plenty come to mind.......
