Let me see if I get this correct...

Applebey is a 2021 HS recruit. He will first be going to Wabash Valley Junior College before coming to UK? So, he won't be playing for UK until at least 2023?

He is 6'7 230 and a right handed pitcher that has touched 94 with his FB.

Obviously a lot could change between now and then. Going to JUCO does the player have to complete 2 years?
The #2 recruit in Illinois for 2021.

Is the reason to do this to insure playing time in the freshman season?

I have no idea why he might be doing this. It is weird to commit to a second school when you haven't even gone to the first school yet.

I guess grades are the issue, but that is entirely a guess.

You can go to another school after one year, but there are certain requirements for that.

I doubt he makes it to UK. Majority of kids with that size and velocity are going juco then draft.
