I like Stoops, but I’d riot too in their position. They just paid a dude $75 mil to go away… to hire Stoops? If you’re dropping that kind of money to chop a head, you better have one massive name already lined up to justify it, in my opinion. Stoops isn’t that guy.

Their AD has now made 2 sec football hires in his career. Matt Luke at Ole Miss and Mark Stoops at a&m
A&M just saved UK untold millions in a buyout when things get bad in the next couple of years. Also saved Stoops legacy at uk.
This right here is probably a big selling point for Texas A&M
If this true i am baffled. Did someone say the other day that the horse farmers in Lexington don’t like him? That is the the only thing I can think of that would cause him to leave for a higher pressure job.
Stoops making out well I’m sure. A&M might have made a good hire he did pretty well here but can’t get over the hump at KY. KY wins they can go get a guy cheaper and hope he can recruit as well but more importantly Coach a lot better

If this holds true I believe this will be their Billy Gillespie hire of sorts, or maybe Jimbo Fisher already was. Either way I don’t see stoops lasting there long at all. 2-3 years max.
x if true, roll the dice and offer Liam Coen the job. Understand no previous head coaching experience (similar to Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma) who was handed the reigns when Bob Stoops retired. I think he has been handcuffed by CMS (no proof, just a feeling). Our ability to recruit offensive studs would improve immensely.
That is how we felt when Cincy hired Satt.
