They just laughed at him and then ignored him. Gotta hand it to him...he kept rambling on while everyone had long since tuned him out.

Best thing I heard him spew was this gem: "You guys have tradition, but we have championships."

(Side note: One of the UK fans had a very cool black pull along with big blue UK logo embroidered on it.)

I'd talk crap too. 4 in 16 years is pretty impressive. I'm turning 30 this year and have only seen 3. (soon to be 4). Hard to puff your chest about something that happened (or didnt' happen) prior to your grandparents meeting.

Disagree. Besides, my Grandpa was born in 1886.

Yeah like 96 and 98 are eons ago!
On second thought they may be...to a 12 year old.

I love the idiotic thinking that "if I didn't see it, or weren't alive, it doesn't count"

My dad is part of this board, and has been alive for every NCAA title win...guess he doesn't count.

Oh my gawd, bro. f'ing UCAWN. Me and Sully was watchin the game and he was all like Dude, f'ing wayaz Kemba Wokka?

This reminded me about John Tyler. He was born in 1790 and has TWO living grandchildren. How crazy is that?

You poor, poor man. You've only seen three titles?

How have you endured so much misery?

As I stated in another thread, UConn fans are the worst people on earth.

They're relatively young and they don't fully know painful losses yet. They're the NE equivalent of the Jersey Shore retards.

I've never seen multiple fights break out in the stands of a college hoops game until I went to the UK-UConn showdown at MSG back in the 2009-10 season. All instigated by UConn turds. Some kids were getting up in my 65 year old father-in-law's face yelling 'go back to the @#$%ing sticks!'. That's obviously hilarious now, mostly because I'm assuming at least one of those puds has since died from alcohol poisoning, but ridiculous at the time. They're the scourge of humanity.

I will personally cherish their descent into mediocrity after the Calhoun era.

They're a mouthy bunch, typical northeastern trash. They should talk it up now; in 10 years everyone will be asking "whatever happened to UConn?"

You're a moron.

Also, change your sig.

Okafor averages 17 and 9, seriously...what us so extraordinary about that?

Uconn just went down at home to Memphis (hit a shot with 8.6 seconds to go to take lead and win).

NIT (unless they win the conference tournament).

Hardly. They're sort of like Boston....It would be understandable if a Boston red sox fan was talking ish, despite the 86 year drought. Or the SF Giants. Or the Patriots..actually patriots are the best analogy to UConn. I'm not saying its correct. But to a younger person, they see UConn win 4 recently and that makes them tons more relevant than say IU, who hasn't won since the end of the Regan administration. I'm not saying the fan was right, but it is understandable. And 2 of those titles are directly because of UK

His point was you said that it's hard to puff your chest about something that happened before your time, yet you have a picture in your signature that commemorates UK's 2000 wins, the majority of which happened before you were born.

That pic is because I was focused on and the center of the ESPN.com main page.

They're having a good run. It rivals, us, Duke, UNC in the last 25 years. Despite them not having tradition, they've won as many titles as us in 16 years as we have since 1959. And beaten us head to head 2x in the past 5 years. That's all. I'm just saying it's not as far fetched. I stand by my statement.

Look, UConn fans like to act like college basketball started in 1999. They have won 4 titles from then till now. Yet if you go back a measly 3 years from 96 till now we have 3 titles and soon to be 4 as well. They have 5 final fours in that time. Starting at 96 we have 6.

Funny how UConn never shows up in the big dance when UK is really, really good
wink.r191677.gif

Their little run at You Con is probably over, what high level recruit wants to play in the AAC or whatever they have jumped to these days, these conference jumpers are flash in the pan big mouths that will keep running their yaps until UK evens the score.

Yeah its hard to believe that you are a Kentucky fan. The door is -----> way poser.

Anyone who chooses "talking crap" over an actual sports discussion in public with strangers probably doesn't deserve either device.

I think the point is that you were there celebrating win # 2000….you can't celebrate our 2000 wins and then make the statement that history is relevant today. It was obviously relevant when you were holding up that 0.

I understand what you are saying about recent wins mattering to young people today, but I think the other posters are pointing out the irony of your celebration of a historical achievement while denying the value of historical achievements...

I'm stopping quoting, but you act like they can't be excited for their team since they didn't win in the 50's. We're fortunate to have the past and the present, and flaunting the present with no past, while annoying, is better than flaunting the past with no present (IU). You d*mn right I celebrated our 2000th win. I am not a poser. I also am on a Kentucky board, where 48, 49 and 51 are as important as the 96 and 98 ones.

The irony is rich in this post in addition to it being moronic.

You are correct. You are still missing the part that aggravated some posters: "Hard to puff your chest about something that happened (or didnt' happen) prior to your grandparents meeting."

Everyone can admit that UCONN winning 4 titles since 1999 is incredible. We can admit that without agreeing with your point that we aren't allowed to "puff our chest" about wins that happened before we born, which you hypocritically puffed your chest probably more than anyone here by holding up a sign bragging about 2000 wins. That's all we are pointing out to you.

Good thing our poor St Louis fan does not follow IU, kansas, or Lewisville Community College
