Just looked at recruiting a QB in '23, and it looked like we were in on Christopher Vizzina.

Kid is ranked #5 Pro for '23 and we had him for 2 visits. Vizzina ends up taking 29 visits in a one year time span.

The ability to get a top QB on campus 3 times speaks volumes about our staff.

Doesn't mean much now, but Coen was the connection but to get enough interest for 2 visits from a Bama kid?

The cookie jar is wide open going forward for an immediate leader.

Does this mean we are going to be looking xfer for the apparent to WL?

I'm not sure we didn't already go xfer to replace Levis. Hogan has quite a prep resume. 4 star by ESPN and Rivals, high 3 star elsewhere. Consensus top 20 pro QB for 2020 class. Will have 2 years to play after this season? 3? He'll be 3 years a college FB player next Fall. I strongly suspect his is a similar story to Levis. I think he and Brian Ferentz might have been a bad fit. Maybe Beau just saw the handwriting on the wall? I think his transfer might be our barometer.

Well hopefully Hogan gets some meaningful clock in a couple of the early non-conference games so we can get a decent look at him. I hope those games go as they should and Levis can sit most of the 4th quarter. I really hope we don't keep him in games too long to pad stats and risk injury. We need to keep him healthy.

being a 2024 recruit would project him to be the replacement for Hogan if that's how things play out.

Just.....no, there will be no gift wrapping and giving the starting job to Hogan for 2023.

We will from the portal in Dec bring in a guy good enough to be an SEC starting QB. There will be lots wanting that spot, with how we have made Levis the face of the program, developed him into getting 1st round buzz, and our incredible talented young WR room.

If Hogan is good enough, he can go out there & win the job next yr. But there WILL be competition, strong one, I have zero doubt on that.

Exactly

What do we know/need to know about this young man and his possible feelings toward UK.

Anyone has to face that reality. I was merely pointing out potential, and perhaps Allen realizing he clearly belongs at Tarleton State... not competing with Hogan or whoever might relegate Hogan when Levis is gone.

Family history in KENTUCKY?
I think both of his older athletic siblings went out of state to play sports. Someone also said he’s already announced his plan to play his final high school year or years at a big prep school somewhere. Prep school thing is not a great sign but doesn’t mean we’re out either.

Not sure what to expect from Hogan but I think Brian Ferentz is a bad fit with any quarterback.
