So the schedule goes:
8/31 - Clemson
9/7 - Tenn Tech
9/14 - UK (Lexington)
Vandergriff gets tested early.

That would be game 3, second SEC game for usWe basically have all preseason to get ready for them as the 1st SEC game of the year.
And we get a game to hopefully get back on track the week after. I like the OOC games breaking up the SEC gauntlet.Good. Truth known early. Won't build up false hopes.
Someone has posted elsewhere - we have 4 straight home games in Sept. (Southern Miss, South Carolina, Georgia, and Ohio),Hmm, I read other reports our week 3 opponent was South Carolina.
I bet week 2 is a bye off week
We’re not getting a bye week in 2nd game. Uk should pitchfork if sec screwed us in this gameHmm, I read other reports our week 3 opponent was South Carolina.

Has to be a positive with Brock leaving. So the schedule goes:

9/7 - Tenn Tech

That’s what I’m thinking. Maybe they’ll go back to not being on top of their game playing us since we won’t have unnecessary hype from a fraudulent record going in and we can keep it to two scores or something reasonableGood. Truth known early. Won't build up false hopes.
7 would even be an accomplishmentIf UK wins 8 games next year, Stoops should be SEC Coach of the year.
Agreed. Ohio university is the week after UGA. So at least it’s a non conference easier gameWe need a bye after Georgia. They're so physical, that game impacts the next few games. Happened again this year because neither silver nor Wallace really recovered from their injuries in that game. Killed us especially vs UT.
I really think by playing all of our non conference games (outside of UL) first 3 games....I think it contributes to why we lost the USC game and Vandy game two years ago...we simply need a breather late in year vs. front loading the entire schedule so early.Excellent.
We need to play a big game early. Figure out who's who and what's what. Adjust accordingly against Ohio.
Worst case scenario it's a beat down...it's early in the season, move on get a dub vs OOC.
That beat down to start October led to a domino effect. Took us the entire month to shake the shock of "We're not in OOC anymore Dorothy."
Play Missouri and/or UT before UGA or after Miss St and I think we got em.
Also, Auburn and SC both played UGA tight in September.
LSU, 2 of their 3 losses are in September. Bama had some tight games early season.
Something about them big, old, established dogs early season. Maybe it takes a little bit longer to stretch and warm up. Maybe they're just not as interested cause they're playing for late season.
Guessing the marquee matchups are being put together first for TV purposes, then letting the rest fall into place after. .Why do other SEC know their schedule and we don’t ?
This, I like spreading out the non-conference games to break up the SEC gauntlet. I think it contributed to our success in 2018 and 2021 when the non-conference games were set up similarly.I really think by playing all of our non conference games (outside of UL) first 3 games....I think it contributes to why we lost the USC game and Vandy game two years ago...we simply need a breather late in year vs. front loading the entire schedule so early.
South Carolina played UGA really tough pretty early in the year. And now we have somebody on the team that practiced against their defense for 3 years who can hopefully provide some insights on how to exploit it.Excellent.

Good question. Clearly the schedules are made. Reading the whole schedules to be released Dec. 13.Why do other SEC know their schedule and we don’t ?
I believe they’re all made but UGA’s just leaked. Probably from someone in their ADWhy do other SEC know their schedule and we don’t ?
They have to be. I mean 1/4-1/3 of the games' scheduled have already been released by some way or another.I believe they’re all made but UGA’s just leaked. Probably from someone in their AD
So we won't get to start off 5 and 0, get ranked, lose some bad games, and then realize we were overrated? Might get a realistic look at the team for a change.
9 game schedule is far off, if ever. Too many teams have contracted annual 4 out of conference games scheduled for many years out. And too many disagree on how a 9 game slate would be constructed so they feel fairly treated. And most importantly ESPN is in no hurry to pay extra for all 16 to play 1 extra SEC game a yr.
