It's been a trying week around here. Losing sucks, but didn't expect:

-Getting murdered by what had been a pretty mediocre UGA team.
-Fans going crazy about the loss
-Stoops stepping in it on his radio show (he is usually masterful in his handling of the fanbase)
-Leary having terrible game after terrible game
-Defense letting UGA do whatever it wanted.

This is a new week. Mizzou is good, but we can win. Home, night game. If Stoops is the coach I think he is, the team will come out fired up. Win the game, get to 6-1 and all goals still on the table and a big season is still in play.

That’s the bottom line right now, like Al Davis used to say “Just win baby!!!’

Our team has some flaws that were exposed by the best team in the country, but hopefully our staff and players have enough pride to come out fired up to show the world it was a fluke.

Our program really needs this game!!!

A). I dont think the fans went nuts , expect for being angry that an OL cheap shotted a guy in the back , and other embarrassing plays that players with self control and focus dont commit .
B) Leary has not been terrible every game , he's been up and game in the same game sometimes but QB play was not the reason we were 5-0 or got blasted at Ga . He should have never ever been singled out by the head coach publicly when other players had horrific penalties and blown coverages .
C) huge game , does Stoops still have the confidence of the men under him . We shall see . But Big blue nation deserves the deepest and most sincere apology from Stoops that he can muster .

The fanbase, the media and hell even Stoops attitude and tone about this season is puzzling and befuddling

You'd think we were 1-5 not 5-1

"Leary having terrible game after terrible game"

Again, false bullshit. from common descriptions one would assume the 2023 UK passing results are worst than when Lynn Bowden was under center.

Agree to disagree on A & B. It seemed pretty nuts around here to me.

RE: Leary, I think he has objectively been pretty bad (though his receivers have NOT helped him at all). He has had pockets of good, but I've been really disappointed so far.

As a fan of an opposing team I have been impressed with CMS from the beginning of his career. He has always been very guarded with his comments about players and other teams. But I think this weekend caught him off guard, UGA had shown nothing to think it was capable of playing like that. He at the very least expected a competitive game with a reasonable chance to win it. But what he got was a UGA ready to play at the kick off. A couple of bad penalties and the entire game plan was out the window. He may have thought 24 points would win the game. But with the outcome disappointment and frustration hit him pretty hard. Leary certainly hasn't played to expecting of the fans, but I was still surprised CMS threw him under the bus. He was the only player with a bad game.

I’m not sure what constitutes bad for someone if you don’t think Leary has been consistently bad.

Does not matter what we all think. It is in Leary's head (just my guess) that he has not played up to his standards. Now it is up to him to get out of the funk. He will try again each day this week to get out of it.

My worry is that our defense will have issues slowing down Mizzou. If we cannot slow them down then we cannot win (in my opinion). We cannot out score them.

Our guys have to get their Mojo back (Quick, Fast and in a hurry).

7th game into the season, all teams are dealing with injuries and such. We just have to get the guys available to play with that attitude we saw against Florida.

Leary is our best option and that is not the ideal place to be. If Leary cannot shake off the issues then maybe over the bye week the coaches will try a few things with our 2nd or 3rd options. But I doubt this week they try anything. It is up to Leary to get us our points. Maybe our defense can manufacturer some points as well.
