- really nice crowd today, about 4000, but hotter than blazes, had to take several breaks under the stands to cool off (PS to UKAA, how about fixing the water fountains, the ones in front of both bathrooms were broken). Saw several fans give in to the heat.

- that being said, I wonder how many will show up tonight for game 2? Will be perfect weather for baseball

- like others have observed, was MUCH harder than it should have been, we could/should have scored 10 easy.

- admit that Mingione made the correct decision starting Hjelle. We ended up needing a pretty well pitched game just to get out of game 1 and got it. Win tomorrow night and we at least have a nice pitching advantage in games 3 and 4

- got lots of hits, but could never get the one or two big hits to put away the Bobcats. Will be interesting to see how we hit tomorrow night v. IU/NC State.

- feels great to FINALLY win the 1st game of a regional. Two more wins and we can really have some fun

I was there too. I thought the crowd was GREAT considering it was a noon game on Friday. i would expect a sellout on saturday and sunday night, especially given that the heat won't be a factor (today was hot as hell).

Glad you guys were there. It seemed like a real solid crowd. Wish we could have played closer to like instead of at noon

Just headed home half way thru second game with IU leading 5-4...great day for baseball. Crowd announced at 3976 and they were great...fully expect sro game tomorrow night...have great seats 14 rows behind hp mostly out of the sun ... leaving at 10.30 in the morning to head back up. Anybody know who we are pitching?

Supposedly Lewis

I expect the crowd to be electric tonight. Perfect weather in Lexington today, and we're in the winner's bracket. An IU rivalry game might have had the crowd slightly more amped, but NC State is still an ACC program with a decent baseball tradition. No heat excuses tonight, I think people will show up early and stay to the end.
